Adjusting the structure of the membrane and improving its performance proved to be an effective technique for accomplishing efficient dye wastewater purification. Water erosion of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) core in polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber membrane modified with UiO-66-NH was successfully achieved, in this study, using coaxial electrospinning, and ZIF-8 with excellent performance was further epitaxy-grown in situ. Two differently shaped and positively charged MOFs confer strong adsorption capacity (adsorption capacity >2042 mg/g) on cationic dyes. In addition, the multi-dimensional separation pores brought by the micro/nano graded porous groove structure and MOFs not only make the membrane have excellent static adsorption performance, but also have excellent dynamic separation performance under the influence of toxic heavy ions (separation efficiency >99 %; Flux >1666 L m h bar). More importantly, this special structure of the membrane has an excellent photocatalytic activity for the dye, so the membrane can be used for a long time in a green and environmentally friendly way. Together, membranes show a significant deal of potential for the treatment of wastewater containing dyes due to the combination of these outstanding characteristics.

Research on Energy Dissipation Mechanism of Cobweb-like Disk Resonator Gyroscope.

Micromachines (Basel)

November 2024

School of Electrical Engineering, University of South China, Hengyang 421001, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The micro disk resonator gyroscope is a small mechanical device used in navigation, and its effectiveness is greatly affected by a quality factor influenced by energy loss mechanisms.
  • The paper provides an in-depth analysis of these energy dissipation mechanisms, focusing on air damping, thermoelastic damping, and anchor loss, particularly in a high-vacuum environment.
  • Experimental results validate the theoretical findings, showing that air and thermoelastic damping are the main factors affecting performance, highlighting the need to optimize these aspects for better gyroscope design.

Aquatic germplasm repositories can play a pivotal role in securing the genetic diversity of natural populations and agriculturally important aquatic species. However, existing technologies for repository development and operation face challenges in terms of accuracy, precision, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, especially for microdevices used in gamete quality evaluation. Quality management is critical throughout genetic resource protection processes from sample collection to final usage.

Flexible Stacked Perovskite Photodetectors for High-Efficiency Multicolor Fluorescence Detection.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

August 2023

Pen-Tung Sah Research Institute of Micro-Nano Science & Technology, Xiamen University, Xiamen 361005, P. R. China.

A flexible, multicolor detector based on stacked perovskite layers with graded band gaps was presented. Different perovskite layers generate a series of photocurrents corresponding to light intensities at different wavelengths. Experimentally, the flexible detector demonstrated acceptable long-term stability and temperature stability in the bending state.

Water and oil-grease barrier properties of PVA/CNF/MBP/AKD composite coating on paper.

Sci Rep

July 2023

College of Textile Science and Engineering (International Institute of Silk), Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Hangzhou, 310000, Zhejiang, China.

In this paper, three kinds of micro-nano bamboo powder (MBP) and alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) were added to the polyvinyl alcohol/cellulose nanofiber (PVA/CNF) coating to prepare PVA/CNF/MBP coated paper and PVA/CNF/M-MBP/AKD coated paper. The results showed that MBP improved the oleophobicity of PVA/CNF coating, and the grease resistance grade of PVA/CNF/B-MBP and PVA/CNF/M-MBP coated papers reached the highest level, with a kit number of 12. Among the PVA/CNF/MBP coated papers, the PVA/CNF/M-MBP coated paper has the best hydrophobic properties, with the water contact angle and Cobb value of 74° and 21.
