Introduction: Whole body vibration (WBV) is thought to be associated with low back pain (LBP). To mitigate against this the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) have created the ISO 2631 standard, recommending safe dose limits. The aim of this research is to conduct a systematic review of available literature addressing the question, is WBV associated with LBP?

Methods: A literature search was performed from January 1970 until April 2022, including studies focusing on LBP and sciatica in association with WBV, looking specifically for ones reporting on military populations.

Background: Many children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP) experience cognitive difficulties, impacting their academic, social, and emotional well-being. Yet, cognitive functioning is often assumed rather than assessed, and CP follow-up programs focus predominantly on physical functioning.

Effective transition is crucial to improve health outcomes and treatment compliance among patients. Evaluations of existing transition programmes in European health centres identified the absence of disease-specific transition guidelines for PID and AID, as a challenge to the transition process.

  • The study examines the long-term impacts of a family-based psychosocial intervention (FTI) on parents dealing with life-threatening illness, focusing on their perceptions regarding the timing and effectiveness of the intervention.
  • Nine parents were interviewed 4-5 years post-FTI, indicating that it helped alleviate loneliness and provided communication tools that some still use, supporting healthier emotional expression in children.
  • Parents expressed a desire for ongoing support tailored to their individual needs after FTI, highlighting the importance of peer support gained during the intervention for coping with challenges both during and post-illness.
