Background: Degenerative severe aortic stenosis (AS) is treated by valve replacement to improve outcome. Despite diagnostic advancements, many AS patients are still diagnosed late with advanced heart failure.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess multiorgan dysfunction in severe AS using blood biomarkers and their association with quantitative fluid levels and clinical outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).

Objectives: Routine monitoring of renal and hepatic function during chemotherapy ensures that treatment-related organ damage has not occurred and clearance of subsequent treatment is not hindered; however, frequency and timing are not optimal. Model bias and data heterogeneity concerns have hampered the ability of machine learning (ML) to be deployed into clinical practice. This study aims to develop models that could support individualised decisions on the timing of renal and hepatic monitoring while exploring the effect of data shift on model performance.

Background: Patients with multiple organ metastases from hepatic alveolar echinococcosis have a high mortality rate. However, predictors of multi-organ metastasis have not been identified. We aimed to develop a nomogram that predicts multi-organ metastasis in patients with hepatic alveolar echinococcosis.

This study aims to evaluate two of the most commonly used products, the collagen-based patch (Hemopatch) and the micropolysaccharide microspheres powder (Perclot), in the context of stab liver injury in pigs. The objectives of this study were to assess blood loss at various time intervals up to 24 h, survival rates, and mean arterial pressure. The research involved 18 Large-White swine.

Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models of small molecules have become mainstream in drug development and in academic research. The use of PBPK models is continuously expanding, with the majority of work now focusing on predictions of drug-drug interactions, drug-disease interactions, and changes in drug disposition across lifespan. Recently, publications that use PBPK modeling to predict drug disposition during pregnancy and in organ impairment have increased reflecting the advances in incorporating diverse physiologic changes into the models.
