In this Letter, we investigate the binding mechanism and motion dynamics of the bound state consisting of two pure-quartic solitons (PQSs) with unequal intensities and find that their movement occurs as an entity under the Raman self-frequency shift. By calculating the forces that induce the relative motion between the unequal PQSs, we derive the balanced conditions for maintaining a near-constant separation and the constant phase profile between them. The predictions are validated by the numerical simulations. Our work provides insights into the intrinsic features of symmetry-broken localized structures in nonlinear-dispersive systems, stimulating interest in asymmetric multi-soliton states with intriguing dynamics.

The recently discovered metagenomic urethanases UMG-SP1, UMG-SP2, and UMG-SP3 have emerged as promising tools to establish a bio-based recycling approach for polyurethane (PU) waste. These enzymes are capable of hydrolyzing urethane bonds in low molecular weight dicarbamates as well as in thermoplastic PU and the amide bond in polyamide employing a Ser-Ser -Lys triad for catalysis, similar to members of the amidase signature protein superfamily. Understanding the catalytic mechanism of these urethanases is crucial for enhancing their enzymatic activity and improving PU bio-recycling processes.

Current state-of-the-art tools for analysing extracellular vesicles (EVs) offer either highly sensitive but unidimensional bulk measurements of EV components, or high-resolution multiparametric single-particle analyses which lack standardization and appropriate reference materials. This limits the accuracy of the assessment of marker abundance and overall marker distribution amongst individual EVs, and finally, the understanding of true EV heterogeneity. In this study, we aimed to define the standardized operating procedures and reference material for fluorescent characterization of EVs with two commonly used EV analytical platforms-nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) and nano-flow cytometry (nFCM).

A Smart mRNA-Initiated Theranostic Multi-shRNA Nanofactory for Precise and Efficient Cancer Gene Therapy.

State Key Laboratory for Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Medicinal Resources, School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guangxi Normal University, Guilin, 541004, China.

Despite the significant potential of short hairpin RNA (shRNA)-mediated gene therapy for various diseases, the clinical success of cancer treatment remains poor, partly because of low selectivity and low efficiency. In this study, an mRNA-initiated autonomous multi-shRNA nanofactory (RNF@CM) is designed for in vivo amplification imaging and precise cancer treatment. The RNF@CM consists of a gold nanoparticle core, an interlayer of two types of three-stranded DNA/RNA hybrid probes, one of which is bound to aptamer-inhibited DNA polymerases, and an outer layer of the cancer cell membrane.

Purpose: Two-shot γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) difference editing techniques have been used widely to detect the GABA H4 resonance at 3.01 ppm. Here, we introduce a single-shot method for detecting the full GABA H2 resonance signal, which avoids contamination from the coedited M macromolecules.

The formation of a stable alkyl At-C bond occurs during the shipment of At on a 3-octanone-impregnated column and the reactivity of At stripped from columns has been studied. The At could not be recovered from the 3-octanone organic phase using nitric acid or sodium hydroxide, even up to 10 and 15.7 M, respectively.
