Although previous studies have established links between anxiety disorders, sexual dysfunctions, and sexual satisfaction, there is relatively little research on the specific factors associated with living with an anxiety disorder that might contribute to these sexual health disparities. This study assessed the associations between anxiety, cognitive distractions, biased expectancies, and 1) sexual dysfunction (DSM-5 diagnostic criteria) 2) associated distress, and 3) sexual satisfaction while considering the role of pharmacological treatment-related sexual side effects and comorbid depressive symptoms. A large clinical population ( = 207) of people with anxiety diagnoses seeking treatment at 11 outpatient anxiety clinics in Denmark participated. Higher cognitive distraction levels were linked with a greater risk of sexual dysfunction, more sexual dysfunction-associated distress, and lower sexual satisfaction. Higher sexuality and anxiety biased expectancies were associated with an increased risk of sexual dysfunctions and associated distress and decreased sexual satisfaction. Higher anxiety symptom severity was only associated with lower sexual satisfaction among female respondents. Higher anxiety sensitivity was linked to a higher risk of sexual dysfunction, associated distress, and lower sexual satisfaction among female participants only.

Background: Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) is nowadays the standard to treat benign and malignant disease occurring in the uterus, but the number of robotic-assisted surgeries is increasing worldwide. To facilitate the handling of sutures in a bi- and tri-dimensional plane, a new type of suture material has been developed, named barbed sutures, which are in use in different indications. In comparison to conventional suture materials, the barbs anchor the suture in the tissue, provide tissue approximation and prevent slippage without the need for knot tying.

Background: Although topical corticosteroids (TCS) represent first-line treatment for vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) and as such should be prescribed to all women at time of diagnosis, approximately 30% of patients do not experience complete symptom resolution following such treatment. TCS may not effectively improve vulvar trophism and elasticity, both of which are crucial for sexual function. Owing to its regenerative and healing properties, cord blood platelet-rich plasma (CB-PRP) may represent an efficacious supplementary therapy, to be administered following first line treatment with TCS.

The treatment of chronic testicular pain is a complex condition that will be encountered by most practicing clinicians. In this study, the influence of low-level laser irradiation of the red and infrared spectral range for treating chronic testicular pain was evaluated and compared. In this double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial study, 60 patients were randomly divided into three groups of 20: (1) low-level laser group with red (650 nm, 50 mW), (2) low-level laser group with infrared (820 nm, 100 mW) and (3) laser placebo group.

Background And Objective: In 2019 and 2021, Europa Uomo initiated the Europa Uomo Patient Reported Outcome Study (EUPROMS) and the EUPROMS 2.0 survey, with the goal of collecting data on patients' self-reported perspective on physical and mental well-being outside of a clinical trial setting, to be able to investigate the burden of prostate cancer (PCa) treatment from a patient-to-patient perspective. Acknowledging the importance of collecting quality of life (QoL) follow-up data, a 1-yr follow-up (1yrFU) study was conducted to assess the effect of additional PCa treatment on QoL.
