The increase in the global prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), driven mainly by obesity and physical inactivity, has increased interest in various nonpharmacological therapies. This systematic review aims to establish the effectiveness of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and resistance exercise (RE) compared with continuous aerobic exercise in improving control in patients with DM2. We conducted a comprehensive search for clinical trials using databases such as MEDLINE (PubMed) and Web of Science. The search was performed using a controlled vocabulary (MeSH) together with Boolean operators, and the results were limited to English and Spanish. Secondary outcomes were improvements in VOmax and decreases in low-density lipoprotein (LDL). This study aims to explain evidence-based recommendations for primary care physicians on exercise therapies to improve glycemic management as well as cardiovascular health in people with DM2.

Nanomaterials stand out for their exceptional properties and innovative potential, especially in applications that protect against space radiation. They offer an innovative approach to this challenge, demonstrating notable properties of radiation absorption and scattering, as well as flexibility and lightness for the development of protective clothing and equipment. This review details the use of polymeric materials, such as polyimides (PIs), which are efficient at attenuating ultraviolet (UV) radiation and atomic oxygen (AO).

Objective: While the relationship between smoking and subarachnoid hemorrhage is well established, data regarding the probability of detecting unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) in smokers remain sparse. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between smoking and the likelihood of identifying UIAs in healthy asymptomatic patients who underwent brain imaging for indications unrelated to UIAs.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines.

Objective: Pharmacoresistant tremors, often seen in Parkinson disease and essential tremor, significantly impair patient quality of life. Although deep brain stimulation has been effective, its invasive nature limits its applicability. MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) thalamotomy offers a noninvasive alternative, but its cognitive impacts are not fully understood.

This review systematically examined the reporting of sex and female participation in post-stroke lower extremity (LE) motor rehabilitation randomized controlled trials (RCTs) over time and identified differences in female participation across RCTs conducted in low-and-middle-income countries (LMICs), high-income-countries (HICs), and HIC-regions. Systematic searches were conducted of MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL and PsycINFO from 1970 to May 2022. RCTs in English were included if they examined post-stroke LE motor rehabilitation interventions in adults diagnosed with stroke.

Better understanding of parental experiences during children's ICU-to-ward transitions is required to inform the development of ICU transitional care.
Aim: To examine the parental experiences during their children's ICU-to-ward transitions through the synthesis of original qualitative studies.
