Background: Reentry veterans experience many barriers to achieving physical and psychological well-being. While peer specialists can provide important support to veterans as they readjust to life post-incarceration, their specific activities and qualities most valued by veterans are not well known. The Post-Incarceration Engagement (PIE) intervention, coordinated with VA's Health Care for Reentry Veterans (HCRV) program, links reentry veterans with a peer specialist who provides connection to services and social-emotional support during the reentry process.

Overweight and obesity are associated with adverse psychological outcomes, compromised body composition, and reduced quality of life (QoL). While exercise training has been proposed as an effective intervention, its impact on these outcomes remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of exercise training on psychological outcomes, body composition, and QoL in overweight or obese adults.

Early childhood intervention professionals have higher rates of work-related stress and burnout compared to other health professionals. Furthermore, this is exacerbated by exposure to negative emotions, the stigma associated with mental health, and even the stress experienced by families due to the impact of having a child with a developmental disability. The aim of this study was to determine whether emotional intelligence and empathy were able to predict resilience in early childhood care professionals.
