Introduction: Psychotropic medication (PM) use in behavioral-variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) is higher than in other dementias. However, no information exists on whether PM use differs between sporadic and genetic bvFTD.
Methods: We analyzed data from sporadic and genetic bvFTD participants with PM prescriptions in the Advancing Research and Treatment in Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration/Longitudinal Evaluation of Familial Frontotemporal Dementia Subjects study.

Bilateral thalamic infarcts are rare and can result in severe and chronic cognitive and behavioral disturbances-apathy, personality change, executive dysfunctions, and anterograde amnesia. There is a paucity of literature on neuropsychological rehabilitation in patients with bilateral thalamic infarcts.

Introduction: Tovertafel is a VR-based serious game for dementia care (SGDC) that aims to stimulate residents affected by dementia in nursing homes, promote social and cognitive skills and reduce apathy. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of using Tovertafel on apathy, social interaction and social activity of people with dementia (PWD) in long-term inpatient care in Germany.
Methods: In this monocentric intervention study, 25 residents of an inpatient long-term care facility with moderate or severe dementia had two weekly applications of Tovertafel over a period of 8 weeks.
