Open rhinoseptoplasty has been widely performed in the field of otorhinolaryngology. However, from the perspective of beginners, rhinoseptoplasty is a hard-to-learn surgery that involves a relatively steep learning curve. Therefore, practical guidance is essential to enhance the skills needed for excellent surgical outcomes. Here, we provide a step-wise dissection manual using a commercialized silicone nose model designed for rhinoseptoplasty. The contents include general approaches with regard to transcolumellar inverted V incision, flap elevation, osteotomy, septoplasty, modification of the lower lateral cartilage for tip surgery, and dorsal augmentation using silicone implants. In addition, we introduce novel techniques such as dorsal augmentation using a ready-made mold with tissue glue applied to diced cartilage and polycaprolactone mesh for rhinoseptoplasty. The present study also provides photos of individual surgical procedures using a silicone nose model for actual guidance. The authors expect that this manual will help beginning rhinoseptoplasty surgeons improve their confidence.

Microphysiological systems (MPS) containing perfusable vascular beds unlock the ability to model tissue-scale elements of vascular physiology and disease in vitro. Access to inexpensive stereolithography (SLA) 3D printers now enables benchtop fabrication of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) organ chips, eliminating the need for cleanroom access and microfabrication expertise, and can facilitate broader adoption of MPS approaches in preclinical research. Rapid prototyping of organ chip mold designs accelerates the processes of design, testing, and iteration, but geometric distortion and surface roughness of SLA resin prints can impede the development of standardizable manufacturing workflows.

Simultaneous reconstruction after removal of nasal silicone implants was published as diced, autologous rib and ear auricular cartilages, and each had their shortcomings. Temporoparietal fascial grafts were used for facial and nasal contouring, vascularized tissue coverage, and augmentation the nose, lip. The temporoparietal fascia graft may be considered for in-time replacement of allografts and remaining bulkiness.

This clinical report describes the nonsurgical treatment of a patient suffering from severe epistaxis associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). Unlike the permanent surgical closure of the nostrils, known as the Young procedure, this treatment option provides interim relief from nasal obstruction. It includes the use of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and computer-aided design (CAD) to create a patient-specific silicone nasal obturator without the need for an impression of the nasal cavity, thereby preventing irritation to the delicate nasal mucosa that could instigate epistaxis.

Background: Nose picking is a common habit that rarely leads to mutilating self-injury. It is important to distinguish between rhinotillexomania (compulsive nose picking) as a disease and nose picking that results in or contributes to nasal septal perforation (NSP). The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of rhinotillexomania and NSP repair on sinonasal symptoms and quality of life (QoL).

Rhinoplasty aims to create a nose in harmony with an ideal face, help patients with specific aesthetic concerns, and improve the nose's function. So, learning all types of deformities and rhinoplasty procedures is essential to solving that particular problem. So, we aimed to point at a neglected nasal deformity to serve as a guide in short nose rhinoplasty.
