Objective: Titanium surface modifications improve osseointegration in dental and orthopedic implants. However, soft tissue cells can also reach the implant surface in immediate loading protocols. While previous research focused on osteogenic cells, the early response of soft tissue cells still needs to be better understood.

De novo root regeneration (DNRR) involves activation of special cells after wounding, along with the converter cells, reactive oxygen species, ethylene, and jasmonic acid, also playing key roles. An updated DNRR model is presented here with gene regulatory networks. Root formation after tissue injury is a type of plant regeneration known as de novo root regeneration (DNRR).

Previous studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of a live-attenuated glycoprotein G (gG) deletion mutant vaccine strain of ILTV (∆gG-ILTV). In the current study, transcriptional profiles of chicken tracheal organ cultures (TOCs), 24 h post inoculation with ∆gG-ILTV or the gG-expressing parent wild-type strain, CSW-1 ILTV were explored and compared with the mock-infected TOCs using RNA-seq analysis. Transcriptomes of the vaccine and wild-type ILTV were also compared with each other.

Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices, regulate heart rate and rhythm in patients with cardiac conditions. With an aging population, CIED-related complications, especially pacemaker pocket infections, are rising. Risk factors include frailty, older age, and superficial device fixation, while risk mitigation involves larger pocket sizes, submuscular fixation, and absorbable antibacterial envelopes.

Activation of anaplerosis takes away glutamine from the biosynthetic pathways to the energy-producing TCA cycle. Especially, induction of hyperoxia driven anaplerosis in neurovascular tissues such as the retina during early stages of development could deplete biosynthetic precursors from newly proliferating endothelial cells impeding physiological angiogenesis and leading to vasoobliteration. Using an oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) mouse model, we investigated the metabolic differences between OIR-resistant BALB/cByJ and OIR susceptible C57BL/6J strains at system levels to understand the molecular underpinnings that potentially contribute to hyperoxia-induced vascular abnormalities in the neural retina.
