A 58-year-old male with squamous cell carcinoma of the floor of mouth underwent surgical planning for tumor resection and floor of mouth reconstruction. Unexpectedly, preoperative cervico-thoracic computed tomography (CT) indicated possible right ventricular intramural thrombosis, prompting initiation of unfractionated heparin. Follow-up echocardiography revealed no thrombus reduction, raising concerns of intracardiac metastasis. Positron emission tomography with 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine-18]fluoro- D-glucose with computed tomography (F-FDG PET/CT) showed a hypermetabolic mass in the right ventricle, raising concern for a distant tumor metastasis. Under anti-coagulation, the patient experienced recurrent tumor-related hemorrhage, necessitating urgent lingual artery embolization. Due to disease progression, surgical options were dismissed in favor of palliative chemo-immunotherapy, which both led to significant regression of both primary and metastatic lesions.

Yu-Ping-Feng-San (YPF) is a famous classical Chinese medicine formula known for its ability to boost immunity. YPF has been applied to enhance the immune status of tumor patients in clinical practice. However, there is still a lack of research on its immune regulatory effects and mechanisms in the tumor microenvironment.

This study aimed to compare computed tomography (CT) findings between basaloid lung squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and non-basaloid SCC. From July 2003 to April 2021, 39 patients with surgically proven basaloid SCC were identified. For comparison, 161 patients with surgically proven non-basaloid SCC from June 2018 to January 2019 were selected consecutively.

Polyomavirus enhancer activator 3 (PEA3), an ETS transcription factor, has been documented to regulate the development and metastasis of human cancers. Nonetheless, a thorough analysis examining the relationship between the PEA3 subfamily members and tumour development, prognosis, and the tumour microenvironment (TME) across various cancer types has not yet been conducted. The expression profiles and prognostic significance of the PEA3 subfamily were evaluated using data from the GEO, TCGA, and PrognoScan databases, in conjunction with COX regression analyses and the Kaplan-Meier Plotter.

In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has emerged as a fundamental component of the standard treatment regimen for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, accurately predicting the treatment effectiveness of ICIs for patients at the same TNM stage remains a challenge. In this study, we first combined multi-omics data (mRNA, lncRNA, miRNA, DNA methylation, and somatic mutations) and 10 clustering algorithms, successfully identifying two distinct cancer subtypes (CSs) (CS1 and CS2).

LncRNA DNM1P35 sponges hsa-mir-326 to promote ovarian cancer progression.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as crucial regulators in cancer progression. We found lncRNA DNM1P35 is elevated in ovarian tumors compared to normal tissues, and demonstrated that lncRNA DNM1P35 promoted cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion in SK-OV-3 and OVCAR-3 cell lines. Furthermore, lncRNA DNM1P35 also facilitated the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of ovarian cancer cells.
