Barium zirconium trisulfide (BZS) is a three-dimensional (3D) perovskite with optoelectronic properties suitable for photovoltaic (PV) and light-emitting diode (LED) applications that is conventionally reported in the orthorhombic (62) symmetry. Synchrotron X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, and Raman and absorption spectroscopy revealed three high-temperature polymorphs that appear when BZS is heated in air prior to complete oxidation (BaZrS + 5O → BaSO + ZrO + 2SO↑) at 700 °C with the approximate stability ranges: BaZrS IV (62)T < 400 °CBaZrS III (63)400 °C ≤ T ≤ 500 °CBaZrS II14/ (140)500 °C ≤ T ≤ 700 °CDifferential scanning calorimetry (DSC) revealed exothermic features accompanying the IV → III and III → II phase changes. Furthermore, the direct band gap varied inversely with temperature with distinct energies for each polymorph (1.84 eV ≤ IV ≤ 1.65 eV; 1.65 eV ≤ III ≤ 1.54 eV; 1.54 eV ≤ II ≤ 1.52 eV). Raman spectroscopy found that polymorphic changes up to 600 °C were reversible with bands characteristic of BaZrS IV entirely restored upon cooling to room temperature (RT). This more complete understanding of BSZ polymorphism provides a basis for producing crystallochemical variants with enhanced optoelectronic properties under ambient conditions.

Aortic aneurysm is a life-threatening disease caused by progressive dilation of the aorta and weakened aortic walls. Its pathogenesis involves an imbalance between connective tissue repair and degradation. CD34 cells comprise a heterogeneous population that exhibits stem cell and progenitor cell properties.

Plant viruses have evolved different viral suppressors of RNA silencing (VSRs) to counteract RNA silencing which is a small RNA-mediated sequence-specific RNA degradation mechanism. Previous studies have already shown that the coat protein (CP) of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) reduced RNA silencing suppression (RSS) activity of the VSR of CMV, the 2b protein. To demonstrate the universality of this CP-VSR interference, our study included three different viruses: CMV and peanut stunt virus (PSV) from the Bromoviridae, and plum pox virus (PPV) from the Potyviridae family.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a life-threatening condition characterized by the weakening and dilation of the abdominal aorta. Few diagnostic biomarkers have been proposed for this condition. We performed mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis of affinity-enriched plasma from 45 patients with AAA and 45 matched controls to identify changes to the plasma proteome and potential diagnostic biomarkers.

wilt of banana is a major production constraint in India, prompting banana growers to replace bananas with less remunerative crops. Effective disease management practices thus need to be developed and implemented to prevent further spread and damage caused by f. sp.

Introduction: Balancing the well-documented benefits of regular exercise, particularly its positive impact on cardiovascular risk factors like hypertension, with the potential risks for patients with aortic aneurysms presents a significant challenge. This narrative review aims to summarize the current evidence and guidelines to assist clinicians in making informed exercise and sports recommendations for patients with aortic aneurysms or post-aortic repair.
Methods: Nine clinical trials on the effect of exercise on abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) were identified, including one study on cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in AAA patients.
