The catalyst CuFeAg derived from a layered double hydroxide precursor exhibited the highest STY toward long-chain alcohols of 0.139 g g h. The introduction of Ag enhanced the interaction between Cu and FeC species. When CH was added to the reaction gas, the effect of Ag strengthened the adsorption and transformation of olefin intermediates. This study provides an alternative approach for modulating the interaction among active phases and elucidating the promoter's influence on intermediate activation in long-chain alcohol synthesis.
