A new species of Copidosoma Ratzeburg, 1844 (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) from Colombia and Ecuador, Copidosoma takumasakondoi Vargas & Díaz, sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on the adult female and male. Copidosoma takumasakondoi was found parasitizing three species of nightshade fruit borers, i.e., Neoleucinodes elegantalis (Guenée), N. imperialis (Guenée) and N. prophetica (Dyar) Capps (Lepidoptera: Crambidae).
