Thalerommata Ausserer, 1875 is a theraphosid genus with very small species that resemble Trichopelma, although they lack the dot pattern on the abdomen. They are also distinguished from all other Theraphosidae by the presence of flattened, iridescent setae covering the abdomen, and sometimes, the legs too. Its current distribution includes the following countries: Argentina, Bahamas, Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica and Venezuela. Three new species of tiny tarantulas of the genus Thalerommata are described from northern Colombia: Thalerommata yukpa sp. nov. from Cesar Department, Thalerommata kogui sp. nov. and Thalerommata margarita sp. nov. from Magdalena Department. Colombia has now seven of the thirteen Thalerommata species.

A crude oil aggregation-forming, strictly anaerobic, Gram-stain-positive, spore-forming, rod-shaped, motile and mesophilic bacterium, named strain SH18-2, was isolated from marine sediment near Sado Island in the Sea of Japan. The temperature, salinity and pH ranges of this strain for the growth were 15-40 °C (optimum 35 °C), 0.5-6.

Unraveling the ROS-Inflammation-Immune Balance: A New Perspective on Aging and Disease.

Increased entropy is a common cause of disease and aging. Lifespan entropy is the overall increase in disorder caused by a person over their lifetime. Aging leads to the excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which damage the antioxidant system and disrupt redox balance.

Atomically precise nanoclusters (NCs) can serve as an excellent platform for a comprehensive understanding of structure-property relationships. Herein, three structurally similar Cu NCs (Cu-1, Cu-2 and Cu-3) have been prepared for the photocatalytic phenylacetylene self-coupling reaction. It was found that Cu-1 NC achieved the highest turnover number (TON) of 524.

A High-Efficiency Autocatalysis-Oriented Cascade Circuit via Reciprocal Hug-Amplification for Assay-to-Treat Application.

Developing a DNA autocatalysis-oriented cascade circuit (AOCC) via reciprocal navigation of two enzyme-free hug-amplifiers might be desirable for constructing a rapid, efficient, and sensitive assay-to-treat platform. In response to a specific trigger (), seven functional DNA hairpins were designed to execute three-branched assembly (TBA) and three isotropic hybridization chain reaction (3HCR) events for operating the AOCC. This was because three new inducers were reconstructed in TBA arms to initiate 3HCR (TBA-to-3HCR) and periodic repeats were resultantly reassembled in the tandem nicks of polymeric nanowires to rapidly activate TBA in the opposite direction (3HCR-to-TBA) without steric hindrance, thereby cooperatively manipulating sustainable AOCC progress for exponential hug-amplification (1:3).

Targeting Ru(III) and Ru(I) η2-alkyne species, 2,2'-(iPr2E)2-substituted diphenylacetylenes (1-E, E = P, As) were em-ployed for the pre-paration of [ECCE]-coordinated ruthenium com-plexes. The re-actions between 1-E and cis-(MeCN)2(COD)RuCl2 led to the required Ru(II) starting materials cis-[ECCE]RuCl2(MeCN) (3-E). Upon oxi-dation of 3-E with PhICl2, the Ru(III) target com-plexes [ECCE]RuCl3 (7-E) were detectable for E = P and E = As, but only the arsa-deriva-tive 7-As was obtained in a pure form, namely via oxi-da-tion of cis-[AsCCAs]RuCl2(THT) (THT = tetrahydrothiophene).
