The data on the robber flies of the Altai Republic (Russia) is provided based on the results of expeditions in 2016 and 2022 and the study of museum material. Two new species, Neomochtherus proshchalykini sp. nov. and Leptogaster nikiforovi sp. nov. are described and illustrated. Currently the fauna of robber flies of the Altai Republic includes 35 species and four subspecies, with Antiphrisson mongolicus Lehr, Antiphrisson niger Lehr, Ktyr callarus callarus Lehr, Ktyr protensis Lehr and Leptogaster bivittata Lehr recorded from Russia for the first time. A key to males of Leptogaster Meigen, 1803 species from Siberia is provided.

A catalog of the species of Asilidae occurring in modern India is provided, based primarily on an extensive review of relevant literature. We report nine subfamilies, 60 valid genera and 478 valid species present in India; 368 species (77%) of the fauna, are currently only known from India and may be endemic, while 27 more species have been removed from the Indian list. The catalog entries provide taxonomic, synonymical, nomenclatural, and geographic information for all species taxa.

We simulated different scenarios of pressure drop in a modified hermetic chamber and studied their influence on the host-seeking behaviour of the larvae of the robber fly Mallophora ruficauda using air stationary olfactometers.
