An acalyptrate fly, Babakintaromyia albitarsis gen. et sp. nov., of the superfamily Sciomyzoidea is described from Japan. Wing venation is similar to that of the sciomyzid genus Salticella Robineau-Desvoidy, but the species differs abundantly from Salticella in other respects. Taxonomic characters of the new species differ from those of most or all species of Sciomyzidae in some important ways, including the absence of a preapical dorsal seta on all tibiae. The new genus is tentatively assigned to the subfamily Salticellinae of the Sciomyzidae.

The genus have long been recognized as a source of structural novel, pharmaceutically relevant natural products. We reviewed the structures and activities of secondary metabolites isolated from the genus of from January 1995 to June 2024, and 280 compounds, including six major categories-terpenoids, alkaloids, polyketides, polyphenols, steroids, and other classes-are presented in this review. Among these metabolites, 196 were identified as new structures.

Introduction: Morocco is home to a remarkable diversity of flora, including several species from the Artemisia genus. This study aims to thoroughly examine the chemical composition of essential oils derived from Artemisia species and assess their antibacterial and antioxidant properties through in vitro experiments and in silico simulations.
Methods: Samples of Artemisia herba-alba Asso.

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) exposure triggers pulmonary inflammation, leading to compromised lung function in broiler. As amplified by policy restrictions on antibiotic usage, seeking antibiotic alternatives has become imperative. Mogroside V (MGV) has been reported to have a beneficial role in livestock and poultry production due to its remarkable anti-inflammatory effects.

Corydalis Rhizoma is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) for regulating Qi and relieving pain in clinical practice, with remarkable efficacy. However, its pharmacodynamic substances are not yet fully understood and require further research. In this study, 24 compounds were isolated and identified from the aqueous extracts of vinegar-processed Corydalis Rhizoma using techniques such as macroporous adsorption resin column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and semi-preparative high-performance liquid chromatography.

Since the description of zebrafish (Danio rerio) in 1822, the identity of its closest living relative has been unclear. To address this problem, we sequenced the exomes of ten species in genus Danio, using the closely related Devario aequipinnatus as outgroup, to infer relationships across the 25 chromosomes of the zebrafish genome. The majority of relationships within Danio were remarkably consistent across all chromosomes.
