Introduction: While clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for pediatric oncology infection prophylaxis and management exist, few data describe actual management occurring at pediatric oncology centers.
Methods: An electronic survey querying infection management practices in nontransplant pediatric oncology patients was iteratively created by the Children's Oncology Group (COG) Cancer Control and Supportive Care Infectious Diseases Subcommittee and sent to leaders at all COG institutions, limiting each site to one response to represent their institution.
Results: The response rate was 57% (129/227 institutions).

The nematode Spinitectus notopteri Karve et Naik, 1951 was collected from two species of freshwater fish belonging to the family Notopteridae, namely Chitala ornata (Gray) and Notopterus notopterus (Pallas), at Khun Thale Swamp in Surat Thani province of southern Thailand. Although trivalent manganese (Mn(III)) species have been recognized as crucial intermediates in the degradation of organic contaminants by Mn oxides, quantitative research on their specific roles remains scarce. Our study investigated the degradation processes of an organic pollutant, Bisphenol A (BPA), by dissolved Mn(III) and Mn(III)-bearing oxides, and elucidated the differences of the underlying mechanisms and reaction pathways between several Mn oxides and dissolved Mn(III). Our results indicated that BPA degradation rates with Mn(III)-bearing oxides alone follow the order: δ-MnO ≫ γ-MnOOH > MnO.

However, the depth-wise metabolic potential of microbial communities in hydrothermally influenced Central Indian Ridge (CIR) and Southwest Indian Ridge (SWIR) remains elusive. In this study, a comprehensive functional microarray-based approach was used to understand factors influencing the metabolic potential of microbial communities and depth-driven differences in microbial functional gene composition in CIR and SWIR.
