Light-driven molecular rotary motors are nanometric machines able to convert light into unidirectional motions. Several types of molecular motors have been developed to better respond to light stimuli, opening new avenues for developing smart materials ranging from nanomedicine to robotics. They have great importance in the scientific research across various disciplines, but a detailed comprehension of the underlying ultrafast photophysics immediately after photo-excitation, that is, Franck-Condon region characterization, is not fully achieved yet.

Accurate segmentation of the left ventricular myocardium in cardiac MRI is essential for developing reliable deep learning models to diagnose left ventricular non-compaction cardiomyopathy (LVNC). This work focuses on improving the segmentation database used to train these models, enhancing the quality of myocardial segmentation for more precise model training. We present a semi-automatic framework that refines segmentations through three fundamental approaches: (1) combining neural network outputs with expert-driven corrections, (2) implementing a blob-selection method to correct segmentation errors and neural network hallucinations, and (3) employing a cross-validation process using the baseline U-Net model.

Stress wave dispersion can result in the loss or distortion of critical high-frequency data during high-strain-rate material tests or blast loading experiments. The purpose of this work is to demonstrate the benefits of correcting stress wave dispersion in split-Hopkinson pressure bar experiments under various testing situations. To do this, an innovative computational algorithm, SHPB_Processing.

The early prediction of Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk in healthy individuals remains a significant challenge. This study investigates the feasibility of task-state EEG signals for improving detection accuracy. Electroencephalogram (EEG) data were collected from the Multi-Source Interference Task (MSIT) and Sternberg Memory Task (STMT).

Megavoltage computed tomography (MVCT) plays a crucial role in patient positioning and dose reconstruction during tomotherapy. However, due to the limited scan field of view (sFOV), the entire cross-section of certain patients may not be fully covered, resulting in projection data truncation. Truncation artifacts in MVCT can compromise registration accuracy with the planned kilovoltage computed tomography (KVCT) and hinder subsequent MVCT-based adaptive planning.
