Ion Networks in Water-based Li-ion Battery Electrolytes.

Acc Chem Res

January 2025

Center for Molecular Spectroscopy and Dynamics, Institute for Basic Science, Seoul 02841, Korea.

ConspectusWater-in-salt electrolytes (WiSEs) are promising electrolytes for next-generation lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), offering critical advantages like nonflammability and improved safety. These electrolytes have extremely high salt concentrations and exhibit unique solvation structures and transport mechanisms dominated by the formation of ion networks and aggregates. These ion networks are central to the performance of WiSEs, govern the transport properties and stability of the electrolyte, deviating from conventional dilute aqueous or organic electrolytes.

Electric heaters are widely used owing to their portability, fast heating, single-focus heating, and energy efficiency advantages. Manufacturers provide customers with information on the power consumption and energy efficiency classes of heaters but do not provide any information on heating patterns. Knowing the heating pattern enables users to select the correct heater, which has a significant effect on comfort, health, energy efficiency, industrial process performance, plant growth, and climate change.

We introduce a circle rolling method (CRM) for boundary extraction from 2D point clouds. The core idea is to create a circle that performs pure rolling on the perimeter of the point cloud to obtain the boundary. For a 3D point cloud, a plane adsorbs points on both sides to create a 2D point cloud, and the CRM is used to extract the boundary points and map them back into space to obtain 3D boundary points.

Research on Digital Terrain Construction Based on IMU and LiDAR Fusion Perception.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

Institute of Automotive Engineering, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang 212013, China.

To address the shortcomings of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors in extracting road surface elevation information in front of a vehicle, a scheme for digital terrain construction based on the fusion of an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and LiDAR perception is proposed. First, two sets of sensor coordinate systems were configured, and the parameters of LiDAR and IMU were calibrated. Then, a terrain construction system based on the fusion perception of IMU and LiDAR was established, and improvements were made to the state estimation and mapping architecture.

Investigation and Assessment of AI's Role in Nutrition-An Updated Narrative Review of the Evidence.

Nutrients

January 2025

Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, College of Health Sciences, University of Sharjah, Sharjah P.O. Box 27272, United Arab Emirates.

Background: Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are now essential as the agenda of nutrition research expands its scope to look at the intricate connection between food and health in both an individual and a community context. AI also helps in tracing and offering solutions in dietary assessment, personalized and clinical nutrition, as well as disease prediction and management, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and obesity. This review aims to investigate and assess the different applications and roles of AI in nutrition and research and understand its potential future impact.
