Background: The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology (TBSRTC) aims to standardize the terminology and morphologic criteria associated with thyroid fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) results while also providing corresponding risk assessments for malignancy. contributing to more consistent and standardized reporting of thyroid nodules and aiding clinicians in making informed decisions. Since then, it has been undergoing revisions and updates to further improve its utility and accuracy.
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective study conducted at a tertiary care center. All patients with a history of thyroid gland swelling who had previously undergone FNA were included. The procedure included cytopathologists performing FNAC for all cases of midline neck swelling. Demographic and histopathology data were correlated with the cytological diagnosis.
Results: We included 288 cases. Of those, 234 (81.3%) were female and 54 (18.8%) were male. The presentation age range was 18-91 years. The most reported category was benign, which constituted 30.9% of the cases followed by malignancy (27.1%). As for thyroid lesions, papillary carcinoma was the most prevalent (43.6%). The correlation on cyto-histopathology was presented in every diagnostic category, showing high heterogeneity in diagnostic specificity and sensitivity. The overall diagnostic specificity and sensitivity were 56.05% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 47.92-63.95%) and 80.92% (95% CI: 73.13-87.25%), respectively. Positive and negative predictive values were 60.57% and 77.88%, respectively.
Conclusion: Our data suggests that the TBSRTC system promotes similar sensitivity and specificity to those reported elsewhere. It standardizes reporting and improves communication between cytopathologists and clinicians.

Triclosan (TCS) is an antimicrobial agent commonly used in personal care products. The assessment of TCS exposure in humans frequently relies on analyzing urinary TCS levels. Consequently, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of the variability of TCS levels in urine.

Background: Occiput-posterior (OP) position is associated with labor arrest, need of operative delivery and failed instrumental vaginal delivery with resulting adverse peripartum outcomes. Vacuum extraction (VE) is the most commonly performed type of instrumental delivery worldwide. This study aimed to investigate the outcome of VE in fetuses with sonographically confirmed OP position prior to the procedure.

Introduction And Objectives: Tissue attenuation reduces the specificity of the myocardial perfusion imaging single photon emission tomography (SPECT), which leads reduced diagnostic accuracy. The aim of this study is to compare performances of non-attenuation corrected (NAC), computed tomography based-attenuation corrected (AC) and prone images for qualitative and semi-quantitative analysis of myocardial perfusion SPECT in diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD).
Materials And Methods: Eightysix patients in whom NAC, AC and prone images were obtained with SPECT at Selcuk University Faculty of Medicine, and whose coronary angiography/CT coronary angiography was completed within 3 months, were retrospectively studied.

Filling the microchannel with negatively charged hydrogel can exhibit microsacle ion current rectification (ICR) behavior, which is attributed to the space negative charge and structural asymmetry of hydrogel. In this study, this character had been applied to develop a trypsin sensor for the first time. A hydrogel synthesized with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and glyoxal (BSAG hydrogel) was filled at the tip of microchannel firstly.

An electrochemical aptasensor has been developed specifically for the sensitive and selective determination of ochratoxin A (OTA), one of the most important mycotoxins. The aptasensor utilizes a glassy carbon electrode that has been modified with toluidine blue (TB) encapsulated in a Zn-based metal-organic framework (TB@Zn-MOF). The results demonstrate that in the presence of OTA, the peak current of the differential pulse voltammogram (DPV) related to TB oxidation is notably decreased.
