Purpose: Spine surgery, particularly deformity correction, is associated with a high risk of peri-operative or post-operative complications, and these complications can lead to catastrophic consequences. This case report will present the etiology and treatment process of the peri-operative cardiac arrest during scoliosis correction surgery.
Method: In this report, we present a case of cardiac arrest during posterior correction surgery in a 17-year-old female patient with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Purpose: A transoral surgical corridor can provide adequate exposure for extirpation of benign tumors arising from the parapharyngeal space (PPS). However, peri-operative complications following a transoral approach to the PPS have not been sufficiently described. This study retrospectively reviewed patients with PPS tumor extirpated via an endoscopic-assisted transoral approach, aiming to evaluate the safety of this approach and summarize the peri-operative complications.

Background: Microsurgical nasal replantation is a rare yet important procedure in order to regain the respiratory, olfactory, and aesthetic features of the nose. However, due to the traumatic nature of most nasal amputations, appropriate veins for anastomosis are difficult to find- complicating replantation. This is the first systematic review that compares peri operative and post-operative outcomes in arterial only versus arterial and venous anastomosis for nasal replantation.
