Background: The consultation is the vehicle by which general practitioners (GPs) 'ply their trade'. Consultation skills comprise the range of skills that underpin the effective and safe doctor-patient encounter and include communication skills, relationship building, data gathering, identifying the patient agenda, shared decision making, time management and follow-up. Development of consultation skills is a fundamental element of Australian general practice training.
Objective: We build upon a previous article and discuss a number of additional practical tips to support new (and not so new) registrars to navigate the general practice consultation safely and effectively.
Discussion: We address consultation tips across a range of aspects of the consultation, including preparation, building rapport, patient-centred care, data gathering, managing uncertainty, management planning, follow-up and time management.

: Despite the known impact of propofol and remifentanil on hemodynamics and patient outcomes, there is a lack of comprehensive quantitative analysis, particularly in surgical settings, considering the influence of noxious stimuli. The aim of this study was to develop a quantitative semi-mechanistic population model that characterized the time course changes in mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) due to the effects of propofol, remifentanil, and different types of noxious stimulation related to the clinical routine. : Data from a prospective study were used; the study analyzed the effects of propofol and remifentanil general anesthesia on female patients in physical status of I-II according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA I-II) undergoing gynecology surgery.

Objective: Currently, Ga-labeled somatostatin analogs (SSAs) are the most commonly used imaging agents for patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in clinical practice, demonstrating good results in tumor diagnosis. For applications in peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT), targeted drugs should have high tumor uptake and prolonged tumor retention time. To enhance the uptake and retention of tracers in NETs, our goal is to design a Ga-labeled heterodimer for optimizing pharmacokinetics and assess whether this form is more efficacious than its monomeric equivalents.

Organ shortage remains a significant challenge in transplantology, prompting efforts to maximize the use of available organs and expand the donor pool, including through extended criteria donors (ECDs). However, ECD kidney recipients often face poorer outcomes, including a higher incidence of delayed graft function (DGF), which is linked to worse graft performance, reduced long-term survival, and an increased need for interventions like dialysis. This underscores the urgent need for strategies to improve early DGF risk assessment and optimize post-transplant management for high-risk patients.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) exhibits notable sex differences in prevalence and clinical and neurobiological manifestations. Though the relationship between peripheral inflammation and MDD-related brain changes is well studied, the role of sex as a modifying factor is underexplored. This study aims to assess how sex influences brain and inflammatory markers in MDD.

The most common histological subtypes of endometrial cancer consist of endometrioid and uterine serous carcinoma, with the latter being more aggressive and accompanied by poor prognosis. Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is a transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor associated with cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. HER2 positivity can be diagnosed in many solid tumors.
