Hetero-metal doping or substitution to create alloy clusters is a highly appealing strategy for improving physicochemical characteristics as well as tailoring optical and electronic properties, although high-yield synthesis of alloy clusters with precise positioning of doped metals is a daunting challenge. Herein, we manifest rational synthesis of chiral alloy cluster enantiomers R/S-AgCu in 85 %-87 % yield by replacing one Ag(I) atom with Cu(I) in homometallic clusters R/S-Ag, achieving circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) with a quantum yield beyond 90 %. As a small energy gap (ca. 0.07 eV) between S and T states facilitates thermally activated delay fluorescence (TADF) through reverse intersystem crossing (RISC), the photoluminescence (PL) of R/S-Ag and R/S-AgCu at ambient temperature originates mostly from TADF (85 % and 86 %) in place of phosphorescence (15 % and 14 %). Relative to those of R/S-Ag, copper(I) doping not only triples PL quantum yields of R/S-AgCu due to accelerating ISC (intersystem crossing) and RISC, but also doubles CPL asymmetry factors of R/S-AgCu ascribed to rigidizing cluster structure through stronger Ag-Cu interaction apart from dramatically improving thermodynamic stability. Solution-processable circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes (CP-OLEDs) demonstrate high-efficiency circularly polarized electroluminescence (CPEL) with external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 26.7 %, which is superior to most of red-emitting OLEDs through solution process.

As confirmed by these studies strong Ln-rad coupling is achieved, with exhibiting slow magnetic relaxation under a 1000 Oe dc field. The optical and magneto-optical profile of is completed by both near-infrared (NIR) luminescence and magnetic circularly polarized luminescence (MCPL), representing the first example of NIR MCPL with Er.

The preparation of single-crystal polymers with circularly polarized luminesce (CPL) remains a challenging task in chemistry and materials science. Herein, we present the single-crystal-to-single-crystal topochemical photopolymerization of a chiral organic salt to achieve this goal. The in-situ reaction of 1,4-bis((E)-2-(pyridin-4-yl)vinyl)benzene (1) with chiral (+)- or (-)-camphorsulfonic acid (CSA) gives the monomer crystal 1[( + )/( - )-CSA] showing yellow CPL with a high luminescent dissymmetry factor |g| of 0.

Here, we report the synthesis and self-assembly of a novel chiral 2,3:6,7‒naphthalenediimide-based triangular macrocycle (NDI-∆) and their chiroptical properties. The enantiomeric NDI-∆ is synthesized by condensation of (RR) or (SS)-trans-1,2-cyclohexanediamine and 2,3,6,7-naphthalenetetracarboxylic 2,3:6,7-dianhydride, in which the chirality of the macrocycles is controlled by the diamine. With the rigid outer π-surface, the macrocycle showed unique chiroptical properties and self-assembly modes.
