AI Article Synopsis

  • The study identified sixteen compounds from the ethyl acetate extract of seeds related to a specific species and evaluated the wound-healing effects of a combination of BMMSCs and this extract in immunocompromised rats.
  • The combination therapy was found to reduce oxidative stress, lower pro-inflammatory cytokines, and inhibit NF-KB activation after 16 days.
  • Key genes linked to wound healing were identified, with pathways indicating positive effects on cell migration and locomotion, highlighting the potential of this approach in regenerative medicine, though further safety tests and clinical trials are needed.

Article Abstract

Metabolic profiling of the ethyl acetate extract of seeds associated with sp. resulted in the dereplication of sixteen compounds (). The present work investigated the combined wound-healing potential of BMMSCs and sp. extract in immunocompromised rats. The BMMSCs/ sp. extract combination could attenuate the oxidative stress, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and NF-KB activation, at day 16. Network pharmacology identified ten key genes connected to the wound-healing process: AKT1, TNF, STAT3, TP53, IL1B, MMP9, CASP3, PTGS2, IFNG, and NFKB1. Furthermore, the Gene Ontology analysis of the selected protein-coding genes demonstrated that the enriched functions and pathways were predominantly associated with the positive regulation of cell migration, positive regulation of locomotion, and wound healing. This combination shows potential for advancing regenerative medicine and could be a revolutionary approach for wound healing in immunocompromised patients. However, further safety evaluations and clinical trials are still required.

Background; Turmeric starch (TS) has gained significant attention due to its potential health benefits. Rich in resistant starch (RS) and higher in phosphorus, TS is anticipated to possess properties of high-phosphorus-type RS. Objectives; To understand the host physiology of TS, this study investigated the dose-dependent effects of TS on colonic fermentation in rats.

Background & Aims: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) constitutes a substantial public health burden with ∼20 million human infections annually, including 3.3 million symptomatic cases. Appropriate treatment options for, in particular, immunocompromised patients with HEV infection and pregnant women are lacking, underscoring the urgent need for potent and safe antiviral drugs.

Transportation, an unavoidable process in livestock farming, causes metabolic disorders in the body, which then lead to endocrine disruption, being immunocompromised, and growth suppression. Lipid metabolism dysregulation is a critical phenotype induced by transportation. The liver is a vital organ in lipid metabolism, with a role in both lipid synthesis and lipolysis.

The colonization ability of DALI02 and the promoting effect of fermented prebiotics have been studied. This study aims to evaluate the systemic immunomodulatory effects of DALI02 and DALI02 + Prebiotics on cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppressed rats. We found that DALI02 and DALI02 + Prebiotics, especially DALI02 + Prebiotics, exhibited significant restorative effects on the immunocompromised state in rats ( < .
