Article Abstract

A Cylindrical shell consists of a curved surface that extends around a central axis, with its thickness being relatively small compared to its height and radius. It has wide range applications in pressure vessels and tanks, heat exchangers, aerospace etc. This article analyzes four shell surfaces, the first and third layers of functionally graded material, and the second and fourth layers of isotropic material. The natural frequency is influenced by several thick layers. The shell frequency equation is obtained by usig the Rayleigh-Ritz approach. The strain and curvature-displacement relations are derived from Sander's shell theory. Characteristic beam functions are employed to assess the dependence of axial modal and trigonometric volume fraction law is used to attain the vibration anaylsis. Results are acquired for different thickness-to-radius and length-to-radius ratios under various edge conditions. For simply supported edge circumstances, the natural frequencies are calculated by using MATLAB software.

The rare diogenid hermit crab Cancellus makrothrix Stebbing, 1924, previously known from only a few specimens collected a century ago from Algoa Bay, South Africa, has been found to be common in the kelp forest known as the "Great African Seaforest", and rocky reefs, of False Bay, South Africa. This poorly known species, considered "aberrant" by some carcinologists, is one of 17 known in the genus Cancellus H. Milne Edwards, 1836, and the only of the genus known to occur in the coast of southern Africa.

The voluntary recall of textured breast implants due to their association with breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma has resulted in the loss of the primary advantage of the textured surface: positional stability. We have engineered a novel soft gel-filled smooth implant with a surface that promotes positional stability without texture, known as the positionally stable smooth implant (PSSI). Miniature anatomically shaped breast implant shells were fabricated from polydimethylsiloxane using 3D-printed molds.

MUPS (multiple unit particle systems) are oral dosage forms consisting of small particles which are filled into capsules or compressed into tablets. Compared to monolithic sustained-release tablets, MUPS tablets rapidly disintegrate inside the stomach releasing the contained small particles, which can be emptied from the stomach independent of housekeeping waves. Control of release can be achieved by adapting the particle composition.
