Where do novel research questions come from? We suggest that identifying key computational problems and comparing solutions across domains can be one source. We exemplify this by looking at perception and action and outline how findings from one domain may generate novel research avenues in the other.

Objective: To explore the perspectives and perceptions of persons with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), their caregivers, and healthcare professionals on computerized cognitive training (CCT).
Material And Methods: Utilizing phenomenological research methods, 12 MCI patients, 11 caregivers, and 15 healthcare professionals were recruited. Data were collected through four focus group interviews and six semi-structured in-depth interviews conducted between March 2023 and June 2023.

Membrane potential is essential in biological signaling and homeostasis maintained by voltage-sensitive membrane proteins. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations incorporating membrane potentials have been extensively used to study the structures and functions of ion channels and protein pores. They can also be beneficial in designing and characterizing artificial ion channels and pores, which will guide further amino acid sequence optimization through comparison between the predicted models and experimental data.

Background: The human brain is a complex inter-wired system that emerges spontaneous functional fluctuations. In spite of tremendous success in the experimental neuroscience field, a system-level understanding of how brain anatomy supports various neural activities remains elusive.
Method: Capitalizing on the unprecedented amount of neuroimaging data, we present a physics-informed deep model to uncover the coupling mechanism between brain structure and function through the lens of data geometry that is rooted in the widespread wiring topology of connections between distant brain regions.

Background: Accumulating evidence has shown the neuroprotective effects of estrogen on cognition function, for example delaying the cognitive deterioration in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the clinical usage of estrogen in AD remains controversial. The cytochrome P450 aromatase encoded by CYP19A1, is a key enzyme catalyzing the C19 androgen conversion to C18 estrogen, which induces testosterone to estradiol and androstenedione to estrone.
