Appropriate contact between catalysts and reactants calls for optimized exposure of active sites in the near-surface region, which can be accomplished by tuning the surface reconstruction degree. Understanding and conducting the controllable surface reconstruction of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts lays the foundation to finetune their OER activity. Herein, we explore the construction of a tunable amorphous oxyhydroxide shell on LiCoFeO heat-sulfurization, followed by electrochemical treatment. The 8-electron sulfide oxidation reaction (SOR) transforms the sulfide shell to amorphous oxyhydroxide and generates surface-anchored SO, which act together to boost the OER. The electrocatalyst with optimal sulfurization exhibits 2.57 times higher than the current density at 1.6 V RHE compared to the original LCFO. This work is dedicated to understanding controllable reconstruction and designing efficient OER electrocatalysts.

The objectives were to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a single preoperative dose of intravenous tranexamic acid (TXA) in reducing perioperative blood loss and requirement for transfusion in patients undergoing hip hemiarthroplasty for femoral neck fracture. A double-blind randomized controlled trial was conducted in 140 patients with hip fracture. After randomization, 68 patients received a single dose of 1 gr of intravenous TXA at the start of the surgery (TXA group), and 72 received a placebo treatment (placebo group).

Bone and Joint Reconstruction Research Center, Department of Orthopedics, School of Medicine, Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran.

Objectives: Previous studies of the association between tibial slope and meniscal tear have led to contradictory results. In this regard, the present study aimed to examine the effect of medial tibial plateau slope on the incidence of isolated medial meniscal tear.

Methods: This study was performed on 75 patients with a posterior horn medial meniscal tear and 150 matched control subjects.

Background: Maintenance immunosuppression is required for suppression of alloimmunity or allograft rejection. However, continuous use of immunosuppressants may lead to various side effects, necessitating the use of alternative immunosuppressive drugs. The early secreted antigenic target of 6 kDa (ESAT-6) is a virulence factor and immunoregulatory protein of mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), which alters host immunity through dually regulating development or activation of various immune cells.

Introduction: This study aimed to identify differences in the levels of inflammation-related biomarkers between patients with subcortical silent brain infarcts (SBIs) and healthy controls. We also evaluated the effect of aspirin on the subcortical SBI inflammatory processes.

Methods: Consecutive patients diagnosed with subcortical SBIs without a history of acute stroke were included.
