The retention of academic faculty, particularly in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), has become a growing challenge in the post-COVID era. The healthcare landscape has been dramatically altered, leading to a "Great Exit" where a large number of faculty members are resigning or retiring early. This phenomenon is not just a financial burden as recruitment costs have skyrocketed, but also poses a threat to the stability and reputation of academic institutions. In this review article, we explore the underlying causes of faculty attrition, the predictors of resignation, and propose comprehensive strategies to retain talented faculty members. We highlight the importance of mentorship, career development opportunities, and fostering a supportive work environment that aligns with both institutional and individual values. The goal is to create a sustainable framework for faculty engagement that strengthens the academic mission and improves clinical outcomes.

Background: Rifampin therapy is indicated for the treatment of staphylococcal periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in patients who have undergone debridement, antibiotics, and implant retention (DAIR) or one-stage revision as per the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) guideline. Given the well-established effectiveness of rifampin as adjunctive therapy in staphylococcal PJI, it is crucial to evaluate its utilization in practice and identify factors that contribute to its underuse or incomplete administration, as these deviations may undermine treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.

Questions/purposes: Among patients who met clear indications for rifampin use having undergone DAIR or one-stage revision for staphylococcal PJI, (1) what proportion of patients did not receive it? (2) What proportion of patients started it but did not complete the planned course? (3) Where documented in the medical record, what were the common reasons for not using it or prematurely discontinuing it, and in what percentage of the patients' charts was no reason given? (4) What proportion of patients were taking a medication that put them at risk for a drug-drug interaction (DDI)?

Methods: Using an institutional database, patients who underwent DAIR or revision arthroplasty for PJI from January 2013 to April 2023 were identified (n = 935).

School of Computer Science and Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vandalur - Kelambakkam Road, Chennai, 600 127 Tamil Nadu, India.

This study introduces a framework that integrates AI-driven Game-Based Language Teaching (GBLT) with advanced neuroscience to transform language education for visually impaired learners. Built on the principles of neuroplasticity and epigenetics, the approach leverages educational psychology with the help of adaptive AI to deliver personalized, gamified learning experiences that reshape neural pathways, improve memory retention, and strengthen emotional resilience. By fostering low-stress, immersive environments, it triggers positive epigenetic changes, enhancing long-term cognitive flexibility.

Background: Predicted nursing deficits and low nursing student retention rates highlighted the need to investigate cultivation of grit, a malleable trait involving perseverance and passion to achieve long-term goals amidst challenges and difficulties.

Objective: The objective of this study was to identify how cultivation of grit and additional academic and non-academic strategies aided gritty second-year associate degree-seeking nursing students in addressing nursing program challenges and completing their nursing program.

Methods: Twenty-two second-year associate degree-seeking nursing students in rural central Arizona completed demographic and Grit-O Scale questions using Survey Monkey™ and participated in semi-structured interviews or focus group discussions held from September through December 2022.

Background: The care of older persons is facing several challenges, especially as care tasks are becoming increasingly rationalized with less opportunity for relational engagement between nurse assistants and older persons. Evidence suggests this engagement is needed to promote well-being and satisfaction among the older persons with whom they work. The aim of this study was to explore how care, in the context of worker perspectives, is understood and experienced in home or residential care facilities.
