Aberrant immune responses to viral pathogens contribute to pathogenesis, but our understanding of pathological immune responses caused by viruses within the human virome, especially at a population scale, remains limited. We analyzed whole-genome sequencing datasets of 6,321 Japanese individuals, including patients with autoimmune diseases (psoriasis vulgaris, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) or multiple sclerosis) and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), or healthy controls. We systematically quantified two constituents of the blood DNA virome, endogenous HHV-6 (eHHV-6) and anellovirus.

Introduction: Endobronchial metastases (EBMs) are rare, with primary tumours predominantly of breast, renal, and colorectal origin. Bronchoscopy is the diagnostic gold standard, with histological confirmation through immunohistochemical study.
Cases: We presented three cases of EBMs, one secondary to colorectal cancer and two associated with renal tumours.

The exploration focuses on the profound legacy of traditional medicines, particularly Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM), and their largely unexplored capacity in ILD treatment. These ancient healing systems, characterized by their holistic methodologies and multifaceted treatment modalities, offer a promising foundation for discovering innovative therapeutic strategies.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) presents a substantial clinical challenge due to the limited understanding of its genetic underpinnings. Here we conduct the largest scale whole-exome sequencing association study of NPC to date, encompassing 6,969 NPC cases and 7,100 controls. We unveil 3 germline genetic variants linked to NPC susceptibility: a common rs2276868 in RPL14, a rare rs5361 in SELE, and a common rs1050462 in HLA-B.

The risk of lung cancer is significantly increased in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), yet the specific genes underlying this association remain unexplored. Our study aims to identify genes shared by SSc and lung cancer. We identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) from SSc and lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) datasets (SSc: GSE95065, LUAD: GSE136043) in the GEO database.
