Microbiology plays an important role in most sectors. Future progress in critical areas requires diverse workforce development. We outline a pathway program that aims to provide equitable exposure to high-impact research experiences and course-based instruction to provide crucial training in growing areas of microbiology (phage discovery, synthetic biology and data science/AI).

Background: We developed a prototype minimum data set (MDS) for English care homes, assessing feasibility of extracting data directly from digital care records (DCRs) with linkage to health and social care data.
Methods: Through stakeholder development workshops, literature reviews, surveys and public consultation, we developed an aspirational MDS. We identified ways to extract this from existing sources, including DCRs and routine health and social care datasets.

Background/purpose: The postgraduate year training program for dentists (PGYD) provides the comprehensive clinical training to bridge the gap between the academic education and the hands-on clinical practice. This study mainly explored the influence of training institutions on the future dental practice choices (in clinics or hospitals) after the completion of the PGYD program in Taiwan.
Materials And Methods: A nationwide, register-based cohort analysis was conducted on all 3,966 PGYD trainees from July 2010 to April 2023.

Background: Seeking to provide early paediatric nephrology exposure to medical students in the United States, we implemented the Kids In Dialysis, Nephrology Exposure and Education (KIDNEE) club. This club served as an educational intervention in which preclinical medical students were paired with paediatric dialysis patients, as patient buddies.
Approach: Students were recruited for involvement in the club through the medical school Paediatric Interest Group.
