This study examines the aging of industrial crude oil to simulate the chemical transformations that occur when it is exposed to environmental conditions over time. It was triggered by the finding of plastitar - a mixture of tar and plastic waste - on the coast of Milazzo, Sicily. Research began with a chemical characterization of the tar component of plastitar, followed by aging experiments designed to simulate environmental conditions such as seawater, UV light and sunlight. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to analyze the chemical changes during the aging process and compare the results with local tar samples. The results showed significant chemical changes in the aged crude oil, including oxidation, degradation of hydrocarbons and the formation of oxygenated compounds. In particular, the FTIR spectra of the aged crude oil closely matched those of the local tar and provided valuable insights that could help address similar coastal pollution issues in other regions.

In this study, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) were developed to estimate the equilibrium solubility and partial pressure of CO in blended aqueous solutions of diisopropanolamine (DIPA) and 2-amino-2-methylpropanol (AMP). In this study, several key parameters were analyzed to understand the behavior of the aqueous DIPA/AMP system for CO capture. Including DIPA (9-21 wt%), AMP (9-21 wt%), temperature (323.

The exploration and development of deep marine shale gas has made significant breakthroughs, but factors influencing gas contents of deep marine shale are elusive, and quantitative prediction methods of gas content needs to be refined urgently. In this study, the deep marine shale of Longmaxi Formation in Luzhou area was taken as an example, vitrinite reflectance analysis, kerogen microscopy experiment, TOC content analysis, mineral composition analysis, gas content measurement, isothermal adsorption experiment, physical property analysis and argon ion polishing scanning electron microscopy experiment were carried out to find out factors affecting the gas content of deep marine shale, and a gas content prediction model has been worked out. Conclusions below have been reached: the content of adsorbed gas is mainly affected by Ro, TOC content, porosity, water saturation, clay mineral content, formation temperature and pressure; the content of free gas is mainly controlled by porosity, water saturation, formation temperature and pressure; according to the prediction models, the adsorbed gas content, free gas content and total gas content of each well were quantitatively calculated, and the study area was divided into Class I (with a total gas content ≥ 11 m/t), Class II (with a total gas content between 9 m/t and 11 m/t), and Class III (with a total gas content < 9 m/t) gas-bearing areas.

This paper proposes a hybrid stochastic-robust optimization framework for sizing a photovoltaic/tidal/fuel cell (PV/TDL/FC) system to meet an annual educational building demand based on hydrogen storage via unscented transformation (UT), and information gap decision theory-based risk-averse strategy (IGDT-RA). The hybrid framework integrates the strengths of UT for scenario generation and IGDT-RA (hybrid UT-IGDT-RA) for optimizing the system robustness and maximum uncertainty radius (MRU) of building energy demand and renewable resource generation. The deterministic model focuses on minimizing the cost of energy production over the project's lifespan (CEPLS) and considers a reliability constraint defined as the demand shortage probability (DSHP).

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of radiotherapy combined with chemoimmunotherapy (RCIT) versus chemoimmunotherapy (CIT) alone as first-line treatment for oligometastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (OESCC) at initial diagnosis.
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 140 patients newly diagnosed with OESCC who received RCIT or CIT as first-line treatment between June 2018 and December 2021. Among them, 76 patients were in the RCIT cohort and 64 patients in the CIT cohort.
