Introduction: Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) is an effective treatment for heart failure (HF) in approximately two-thirds of recipients, with a third remaining CRT 'non-responders.' There is an increasing body of evidence exploring the reasons behind non-response, as well as ways to preempt or counteract it.
Areas Covered: This review will examine the most recent evidence regarding optimizing outcomes from CRT, as well as explore whether traditional CRT indeed remains the best first-line therapy for electrical resynchronization in HF.

Purpose: Based on ideal outcomes of corneal topography following orthokeratology (OK), an innovative machine learning algorithm for corneal refractive therapy (CRT) was developed to investigate the precision of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted OK lens fitting.
Methods: A total of 797 eyes that had been fitted with CRT lenses and demonstrated good lens centration with plus power ring intact in their topography were retrospectively included. A comprehensive AI model included spherical refraction, keratometry readings, eccentricity, corneal astigmatism, horizontal visible iris diameter, inferior-superior index, surface asymmetry index, surface regularity index and 8-mm chordal corneal height difference.

: Heart transplant is the final therapeutic option for end-stage heart failure patients. It has been used with increasing success as a surgical procedure, greatly influenced by advances in diagnostic and prognostic tools. The aim of this paper was to study potential implications of C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients who underwent heart transplants.

Background: The adaptive cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) (aCRT) algorithm provides an important clinical benefit. However, a significant number of patients are nonresponders.
Objectives: The goals of this study were to quantify electrical synchrony in patients programmed with aCRT and to assess the echocardiographic effects of optimization in CRT nonresponders and incomplete responders.

Analyses of cluster randomized trials (CRTs) can be complicated by informative missing outcome data. Methods such as inverse probability weighted generalized estimating equations have been proposed to account for informative missingness by weighing the observed individual outcome data in each cluster. These existing methods have focused on settings where missingness occurs at the individual level and each cluster has partially or fully observed individual outcomes.
