Circular RNA (circRNA) has gained attention as a promising platform for mRNA vaccines due to its stability, sustained protein expression, and intrinsic immunostimulatory properties. This study aimed to design and optimize a circRNA cancer vaccine platform by screening for efficient internal ribosome entry sites (IRES) and enhancing circRNA translation efficiency for improved cancer immunotherapy. We screened 29 IRES elements to identify the most efficient one for immune cell translation, ultimately discovering the A (EV-A) IRES.

Evidence and perspectives on miRNA, circRNA, and lncRNA in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury: a bibliometric study.

J Cardiothorac Surg

January 2025

Department of Cardiology, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Beijing Institute of Heart, Lung, and Blood Vessel Diseases, Capital Medical University, Beijing, 100069, China.

Objective: miRNA, circRNA, and lncRNA play crucial roles in the pathogenesis and progression of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MI/RI). This study aims to provide valuable insights into miRNA, circRNA, lncRNA, and MI/RI from a bibliometric standpoint, with the goal of fostering further advancements in this area.

Methods: The relevant literature in the field of miRNA, circRNA, lncRNA, and MI/RI was retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) database within Web of Science.

Advancements in bioinformatic tools and breakthroughs in high throughput RNA sequencing have unveiled the potential role of non-coding RNAs in influencing the overall expression of disease-responsive genes. Owing to the increasing need to develop resilient crop varieties against environmental constraints, our study explores the functional relationship of various non-coding RNAs in wheat during leaf rust pathogenesis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) were retrieved from SAGE and RNA-Seq libraries, respectively, in the susceptible (HD2329) and resistant (HD2329 + Lr28) wheat Near-Isogenic Lines (NILs).

Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, University of Sriwijaya, Jalan Raya Prabumulih Km 32, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera, 30682, Indonesia.

Nesolagus netscheri, a Sumatran striped rabbit, is one of the rarest rabbits in the Leporidae family, and its genetic information is still limited. This study provides the first mitochondrial genome and molecular systematic characterization of the Sumatran striped rabbit, Nesolagus netscheri, Indonesia's rarest rabbit. It consists of a circular double-stranded DNA of 16,709 bp.
