Using a high-throughput sequencing (HTS) approach, we report the discovery of a new poacevirus (family Potyviridae) in symptomatic wild oat (Avena fatua L.) plants collected near Bordeaux, France, in June 2023. A nearly complete genome sequence of 10,292 nucleotides (nt) was obtained. The genome encodes a large 3189-amino-acid (aa) polyprotein with all of the expected hallmarks of those of Potyviridae members. The 3' untranslated region (UTR) is 195 nt long, and the 5' UTR, whose sequence is likely missing a few terminal nucleotides despite repeated efforts at 5' RACE, is unusually long (531 nt), like that of triticum mosaic virus (TrMV). Pairwise sequence comparisons and phylogenetic analysis showed that the new virus is most closely related to TrMV and to Poaceae Liege poacevirus, a virus that was identified recently in Poaceae members in Belgium by metagenomics. The common name "wild oat poacevirus 1" (WOPV1) is proposed for this novel virus, which should be accommodated in a new species in the genus Poacevirus. Given that WOPV1 was identified in plants that were coinfected by several other viruses, no conclusions can be drawn at this stage about its potential pathogenicity.

Objective: We aimed to characterize integrative and conjugative elements (ICEs) in antimicrobial resistant Streptococcs uberis isolates from bovine milk in Chiba, Japan, based on whole-genome sequence (WGS) data.
Results: Of the 101 isolates, we found the 36 isolates harboring erm(B)-tet(O), showing resistance to macrolides-lincosamides-tetracyclines. The 22 isolates were randomly selected and subject to WGS determination.

Therapies targeting human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer significantly impact patient outcomes, quality of life, and health care systems. While chemotherapy and trastuzumab improve survival in early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer, variability in clinical and biological characteristics leads to different response to therapies and outcomes. Clinical guidelines provide general recommendations, but significant uncertainty persists in identifying an optimal treatment plan for individual patients.

Background: The Tohoku Medical Megabank Project has initiated the Birth and Three-Generation Cohort Study (TMM BirThree Cohort Study) including genomic and omics investigations, and conducted a self-administered food frequency questionnaire with the response option "constitutionally unable to eat or drink it" for individual food items (TMM-FFQ) for pregnant women. This study evaluated the validity of the TMM-FFQ among pregnant women.
Methods: Participants comprised 122 pregnant women aged ≥20 years residing in Miyagi Prefecture who completed weighed food records (WFRs) for 3 days as reference intake and the TMM-FFQ during mid-pregnancy.
