Published: February 2025

Of the 4.5 million people living in areas of the United States with limited access to ambulance services, approximately 20% are children aged 18 years and younger. Ambulance deserts (ADs) are defined as populated areas in the United States that are not accessible within 25 minutes of where an ambulance is stationed. Pediatric AD populations were more likely to live in rural areas and have higher rates of social vulnerability than children living in non-ADs. State-level AD populations vary in terms of racial and ethnic diversity, poverty, and uninsurance rates.

Background: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Environmental Justice Index Social-Environmental Ranking (EJI-SER) combines a Social Vulnerability Module (SV) with an Environmental Burden Module (EB) to characterize cumulative environmental and social burden at the census tract level. This analysis evaluates the association between EJI-SER and kidney outcomes in glomerular disease (GD) patients.

Methods: Cure Glomerulopathy (CureGN) is an observational cohort study of adults and children with biopsy-proven GD.

Objective: After a recent small subcortical infarct (RSSI), some patients develop perilesional or remote hyperintensities ('caps/tracks') to the index infarct on T2/FLAIR MRI. However, their clinical relevance remains unclear. We investigated the clinicoradiological correlates of 'caps/tracks', and their impact on long-term outcomes following RSSI.

Premature frailty is a critical challenge for young breast cancer survivors (YBCSs), impacting their health and perpetuating gender inequality through heightened vulnerability and marginalization. While digital health shows promise in frailty screening, its effectiveness for comprehensively managing frailty remains inconclusive. This randomized controlled trial, registered at the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR2200058823), tests the "AI-TA" program's efficacy on premature frailty and quality of life in YBCSs.

The aim of this study is to analyze the role played by the appearance of female ghosts in their redemption. In the literature on ghosts, entries on female ghosts highlight their "beautiful appearance": Arang (Korean), Otsuyu (Japanese), The White Lady (Europe), Nie Xiaoqian (Chinese), and Maria Makiling (Filipino). Ghosts are women who died tragically, leaving behind unfulfilled desires-particularly those related to romantic or societal expectations such as marriage, love, and motherhood.
