This study evaluated conventional and alternative irrigation solutions combined with ultrasonic irrigant activation (UIA) against () and its endotoxin (LPS) in main root canal and dentinal tubules, using a new intratubular infection model. Seventy dentin cylinders were infected with for seven days under anaerobic conditions and treated with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), limewater + 2.5% NaOCl, and 10% ethanolic propolis extract (EEP), administered by syringe irrigation (SI) or UIA. Microbiological samples were collected before and after irrigation to determine CFU ml and LPS levels. Confocal microscopy assessed bacterial membrane damage with Live/Dead staining. Irrigation solutions effectively reduced CFU ml. UIA caused greater damage to the bacterial membranes and reduced LPS levels. The ultrasonic activation of 10% EEP and limewater + 2.5% NaOCl were comparable to 2.5% NaOCl ( > 0.05). UIA improved the effectiveness of solutions, suggesting potential for alternative substances. Randomized clinical trials using these protocols are recommended.

Evaluating the local immune microenvironment of the canine nasal cavity can be important for investigating normal tissue health and disease conditions, particularly those associated with local inflammation. We have optimized a technique to evaluate the local nasal immune microenvironment of dogs via serial nasal lavage. Briefly, with dogs under anesthesia and positioned in sternal recumbency, prewarmed sterile saline is flushed into the affected nostril using a flexible soft rubber catheter.

Recently, the use of plant-derived biostimulants has been suggested as a sustainable way to improve the nutritional quality of tomato and mitigate the effects of environmental stresses In this regard, a two-year experiment was conducted in open field on four cultivars of tomato (two commercial tomatoes and two local landraces of long shelf-life tomato), to assess the crop response, in terms of fruit yield and quality traits, to the foliar application of two plant-derived biostimulants based on protein hydrolysates (PH), under opposite water regimes (no irrigation and full irrigation), in a semi-arid environment of South Italy. Tomato plants in field were sprayed with a solution containing one of the two biostimulants approximately every 15 days. Full irrigation significantly promoted plant productivity, leading to yields the 22 % and 57 % higher than those produced under no irrigation.

Background: The presence of heavy microbial colony formation, polymicrobial infection, and local altered pH contribute to the high rate of postoperative complications following surgical reconstruction of stage IV pressure injuries (PIs).
Purpose: The objective of this study was to determine the rate of bacteria-related postoperative complications following surgical reconstruction of stage IV PIs in which a pure hypochlorous acid (pHA) antimicrobially preserved wound cleaning solution was used.
Methods: This 1-year retrospective review evaluated the outcomes of patients who underwent surgical reconstructive treatment of chronic stage IV PI.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the apical microleakage of zinc oxide (ZOE) eugenol and Endoflas as obturating materials using different root canal irrigants in primary teeth.
Materials And Methods: A total of 80 extracted primary anterior teeth were divided randomly into four groups with different irrigants and obturating materials used. Group I [ZOE + sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)], group II [ZOE + NaOCI + ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)], group III (Endoflas FS + NaOCI), group IV (Endoflas FS + NaOCI + EDTA).

Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare the cytotoxicity of 25% of neem leaf extract (), 20% of guava leaf extracts (), and 20% of cinnamon extract () irrigants at three intervals of time.
Methodology: Four groups were formed ( = 15), Group 1 (control group) - normal saline solution, Group 2 - 25% of neem extract, Group 3 - 20% of guava extract, and Group 4 - 20% of cinnamon extract. Each group was further divided into three subgroups based on intervals ( = 5).
