Second primary malignancies are being increasingly detected in the setting of thyroid cancer, because of adoption of the advanced imaging modalities including PET/CT. Herein, we present a patient of papillary thyroid carcinoma who initially underwent total thyroidectomy with bilateral neck dissection followed by 131 I radioactive iodine therapy. A prostatic lesion was incidentally detected on 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan, which was intensely 18 F-FDG avid and also showed intense focal 68 Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) uptake on 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT scan. This led to the diagnosis of prostatic adenocarcinoma as a second primary cancer in this patient with papillary thyroid carcinoma.

The smoky brown cockroach, Periplaneta fuliginosa, is a peridomestic pest inhabiting broad regions of the world from temperate to subtropical zones. In common with other related species such as the American cockroach, Periplaneta americana, female-emitted sex pheromone components, named periplanones, are known to be key volatiles that elicit long-range attraction and courtship rituals in males. How periplanones are processed in the nervous system has been entirely unexplored in P.

Word recognition is a fundamental reading skill that relies on various linguistic and cognitive abilities. While executive functions (EF) have gained attention for their importance in developing literacy skills, their interaction with domain-specific skills in facilitating reading among different learner groups remains understudied. This study examines the relationship between EF, orthographic awareness, morphological awareness, and Chinese word recognition in 204 Chinese as a second language (CSL) students and 419 native Chinese primary students.

Background: Airway inflammation is considered one of the pathogenic factors in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but the role of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the development of RA remains unclear. We used cross-sectional studies and Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the link between COPD and RA.
Methods: In National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2013-2018, the association between COPD and RA was investigated using weighted logistic regression models.

Background: Primary pituitary abscess is a rare disease with no specific symptoms for pituitary abscess alone. A preoperative diagnosis is quite challenging due to unclear imaging findings.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a patient with a pituitary lesion who presented with hypopituitarism, diabetes insipidus, and visual field defect and was misdiagnosed as a possible cystic pituitary adenoma.
