Background: The academia has increasingly acknowledged the superior biomechanical performance of the hybrid fixation technique in recent years. However, there is a lack of research on the hybrid fixation technique using BCS (Bilateral Cortical Screws) and BMCS (Bilateral Modified Cortical Screws). This study aims to investigate the biomechanical performance of the BCS and BMCS hybrid fixation technique in transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) at the L4-L5 segment in a complete lumbar-sacral finite element model.

Objective: To assess whether the severity of cases of spina bifida changed after the institution of mandatory folic acid fortification in the US.
Study Design: Six active population-based birth defects programs provided data on cases of spina bifida for 1992-1996 (prefortification period) and 1999-2016 (postfortification period). The programs contributed varying years of data.

Objective: To observe the effect of moxibustion at "Guanyuan" (CV 4) and "Shenque" (CV 8) on acetylcholine (Ach), adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and muscarinic-type choline receptor (M2) and purine receptor P2X3 in bladder tissue in the rats with neurogenic bladder (NB) of detrusor areflexia after lumbar-sacral spinal cord injury and explore the underlying mechanism of moxibustion for promoting detrusor contraction.
Methods: Sixty SD rats were randomly divided into a model preparation group (=45) and a sham-operation group (=15). In the model preparation group, the modified Hassan Shaker spinal cord transection method was used to prepare the model of NB.

Background Context: There are several options for the stabilization of high-grade lumbosacral spondylolisthesis including transdiscal screws, the Bohlman technique (transdiscal fibular strut) and the modified Bohlman technique (transdiscal titanium mesh cage). The choice of an optimum construct remains controversial; therefore, we endeavoured to study and compare the biomechanical performance of these 3 techniques.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare 3 types of transdiscal fixation biomechanically in an in vitro porcine lumbar-sacral spine model.
