Background Orthodontic treatment, while primarily focusing on correcting dental alignment and occlusion, has been increasingly validated for its potential impact on broader aspects of oral health and general well-being: its potential influence on body weight. While the mechanical effects of orthodontic appliances are well documented in the literature, their potential behavioral impact on weight loss remains underexplored. Beyond its primary role in correcting dental alignment, our study has unveiled a lesser-known benefit: its potential to aid in weight reduction among individuals who have already struggled through conventional methods.

Conventional laser micromachining technologies rely on trial-and-error optimization to obtain precise surface geometry. In this study, we present a laser micromachining setup that enables the preparation of the desired surface geometry without the need for parameter exploration. The setup consists of a laser scanning system, a coaxial imaging system, a paraxial laser line projector, and a three-axis stage.

The potential energy curves, dipole moments and transition dipole moments of the 14 Λ-S states and 30 Ω states of TlBr cation were performed using the multi-reference configuration interaction method. The Davidson correction and spin-orbit coupling effects were also considered. The spectroscopic properties and transition properties of TlBr cation were reported at the first time.

Background: Epistaxis is the most common acute disorder managed by ENT services. A 1998 survey (Strachan and England) demonstrated widespread ignorance of correct first aid amongst the public with only 11% of respondents applying correct first aid techniques.
