[Comparative analysis of laparoscopic cholecystectomy outcomes in acute calculous cholecystitis: importance of indocyanine green, optimal dosing regimen]. | LitMetric

Objective: To show the effectiveness of the indocyanine green application in laparoscopic cholecystectomy of any complexity.

Material And Methods: Our study used a domestically produced drug, namely indocyanine green, lyophilisate, which was diluted in water for injections. In addition, 4K equipment with the possibility of fluorescence of different manufacturers (Arthrex, ELEPS, KARL STORZ) was used. The study group included 117 patients who were urgently hospitalized with acute calculous cholecystitis diagnosis. All patients were additionally examined in the preoperative period according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The control group included 109 patients. A retrospective analysis of the medical records for 2023 was carried out.

Results: The advantages of using indocyanine green in the performance of laparoscopic cholecystectomy of any complexity were confirmed. The drug application promotes the extrahepatic biliary tracts navigation, thus allowing to avoid the injuries of extrahepatic bile ducts and the consequences of these injuries. In addition, its implementation increases the possibility of early training of young professionals and residents on the technique of safe laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Conclusions: The application of optimal dosages of indocyanine does not cause visual discomfort during the operation, significantly reduces the duration of the surgery, thus allowing to reduce the time spent in the hospital in the postoperative period.
