Unlabelled: To understand racism and its impact on health in South Korea, it is essential to consider the political and social context of the migrant population, including ethnic Korean migrants, marriage migrants, migrant workers, and bi-ethnic adolescents. This paper has two goals. First, we examined the increasing trends of the foreign population in South Korea, with a focus on the growth of migrant workers and marriage migrants. Following this, we reviewed the historical contexts and discussed the characteristics of racism in South Korea: 'ethnic homogeneity', 'White supremacy', and 'ethnic discrimination against ethnic Koreans'. Second, we conducted a systematic review of 43 articles on the association between discrimination and health among racially and ethnically minoritized populations in South Korea. The review revealed statistically significant associations across various migrant groups but highlighted several limitations: all studies were cross-sectional, many used non-standardized discrimination measures, all focused on interpersonal discrimination, most examined mental health outcomes, and certain migrant groups were neglected in the research. Future research is needed to address these gaps.

Over the past few decades, microtubules have been targeted by various anticancer drugs, including paclitaxel and eribulin. Despite their promising effects, the development of drug resistance remains a challenge. We aimed to define a novel cell death mechanism that targets microtubules using eribulin and to assess its potential in overcoming eribulin resistance.

Spiking neural network algorithms require fine-tuned neuromorphic hardware to increase their effectiveness. Such hardware, mainly digital, is typically built on mature silicon nodes. Future artificial intelligence applications will demand the execution of tasks with increasing complexity and over timescales spanning several decades.

Wnt signaling is essential for cell growth and tumor formation and is abnormally activated in colorectal cancer (CRC), contributing to tumor progression; however, the specific role and regulatory mechanisms involved in tumor development remain unclear. Here, we show that Ephexin1, a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, is significantly overexpressed in CRC and is correlated with increased Wnt/β-catenin pathway activity. Through comprehensive analysis, including RNA sequencing data from TCGA and functional assays, we observed that Ephexin1 promotes tumor proliferation and migration by activating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.

DOCK5 (dedicator of cytokinesis 5), a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Rac1, has been implicated in BMP2-mediated osteoblast differentiation, but its specific role in osteogenesis and bone regeneration remained unclear. This study investigated the effect of DOCK5 on bone regeneration using C21, a DOCK5 chemical inhibitor, and Dock5-deficient mice. Osteoblast differentiation and bone regeneration were analyzed using bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and various animal models.
