Objective: To evaluate the reliability and validity of the spiritual perspective scale (SPS) for adolescents and young adults with cancer.
Methods: The study was conducted with 277 adolescents and young adults with cancer aged 10-24 years who were recruited from Taiwan and Korea. The reliability of the SPS was assessed using Cronbach's α. Its factor structure was determined by exploratory factor analysis. Known-group validity was tested by comparing resilience scores between two groups and between countries using test.
Results: Cronbach's α values for the SPS was 0.94, and item-total correlation values ranged from 0.53 to 0.84. Factor analysis generated two factors (spiritual behaviors and spiritual beliefs) that explained 78.02% of the total variance, with factor loadings ranging from 0.51 to 0.94. Participants with lower resilience had significantly lower spirituality scores compared to those with higher resilience ( = 3.13, = 0.002). The SPS scores were not significantly different between participants in Taiwan and Korea ( = 1.09, = 0.276). However, the spiritual beliefs subscale scores did show a significant difference between these groups ( = 2.74, = 0.007).
Conclusions: The spiritual perspective scale is a valid and reliable tool for measuring the spirituality of adolescents and young adults with cancer in Taiwan and Korea. The SPS showed sensitivity in detecting variations in spiritual beliefs between adolescents and young adults with cancer in Taiwan and Korea.

Safety, immunogenicity, and effectiveness of an mRNA-1273 50-μg booster were evaluated in adolescents (12-17 years), with and without pre-booster SARS-CoV-2 infection. Participants who had received the 2-dose mRNA-1273 100-µg primary series in the TeenCOVE trial (NCT04649151) were offered the mRNA-1273 50-μg booster. Primary objectives included safety and inference of effectiveness by establishing noninferiority of neutralizing antibody (nAb) responses after the booster compared with the nAb post-primary series of mRNA-1273 among young adults in COVE (NCT04470427).

Importance: Semaglutide, a novel glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist medication, was approved for weight management in individuals with obesity in June 2021. There is limited evidence on factors associated with uptake among individuals in this subgroup without diabetes.
Objective: To explore factors associated with semaglutide initiation among a population of commercially insured individuals with obesity but no diagnosed diabetes.

Importance: Data regarding the long-term impact of treating childhood obesity on the risk of obesity-related events, including premature mortality, are limited.
Objective: To evaluate the long-term effect of different responses to pediatric obesity treatment on critical health outcomes in young adulthood.
Design, Setting, And Participants: The study included a dynamic prospective cohort of children and adolescents with obesity within The Swedish Childhood Obesity Treatment Register (BORIS) and general population comparators, linked with national registers.

Research has demonstrated that social-ecological risk and protective factors at multiple levels are associated with sexual behavior in adolescence. However, relatively little is known about how different patterns of these factors may work together in combination to influence sexual risk. In this study, we use nationally representative data from the U.

The construct of empowerment is associated with beneficial outcomes in numerous populations with well-being across multiple domains. Within families, empowerment has been found to be related to both parent and child well-being. As such, empowerment appears to be a promising concept to support parents of young (< 18 years) trans and gender diverse children and adolescents; however, what empowerment means for parents of trans children and adolescents is not known.
