Radiotherapy, employing high-energy rays to precisely target and eradicate tumor cells, plays a pivotal role in the treatment of various malignancies. Despite its therapeutic potential, the effectiveness of radiotherapy is hindered by the tumor's inherent low radiosensitivity and the immunosuppressive microenvironment. Here we present an innovative approach that integrates peroxynitrite (ONOO)-mediated radiosensitization with the tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) polarization for the reversal of immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME), greatly amplifying the potency of radiotherapy.

Background: Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) remains a persistent public health challenge, particularly prevalent in developing and underdeveloped regions despite concerted global eradication efforts. The progressive stage of RHD, marked by valvular calcification, necessitates the imperative need to identify prognostic biomarkers. Fetuin-A, well-known for its role as a negative inhibitor of ectopic calcification, is investigated in our study as a potential biomarker for cardiac valve calcification in RHD patients.

Fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) are among the main disease-driving players in most cases of monoarthritis (MonoA), oligoarthritis, and polyarthritis. In this review, we look at the characteristics and therapeutic challenges at the onset of arthritis and during follow-up management. In some cases, these forms of arthritis develop into autoimmune polyarthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), whereas local eradication of the RA synovium could still be combined with systemic treatment using immunosuppressive agents.
