With recent advances in quantitative high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), there is growing interest in developing liquid chromatography (LC)-HRMS methods that can simultaneously quantify numerous critical impurities in a peptide or protein drug. This approach is attractive as it could reduce the total number of methods and instruments required during product development and quality control testing, while taking advantage of the technique's high specificity and sensitivity. To investigate the feasibility of this approach for peptide drugs, an LC-HRMS method was validated for the quantification of six peptide-related impurities in teriparatide, the 34-amino acid active ingredient in Forteo.

Chronic inflammation is persistent disease caused by unregulated activation of pathway and production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, induced by accumulation of reactive oxygen species above thresholds. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-oxidant, anti-lipidemia, inhibition pathway, and reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokine activities of extract (IDE) to demonstrate its inhibitory ability against chronic inflammatory in RAW264.7.

Zearalenone (ZEN) has been detected in both pet food ingredients and final products, causing acute toxicity and chronic health problems in pets. Therefore, the early detection of mycotoxin contamination in pet food is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of animals. This study aims to develop a rapid and cost-effective method using an electronic nose (E-nose) and machine learning algorithms to predict whether ZEN levels in pet food exceed the regulatory limits (250 µg/kg), as set by Chinese pet food legislation.

Introduction: As the livestock industry grapples with the need for sustainable land, maintaining production systems, and reducing antimicrobial resistance, the application of functional nutrition emerges as a potential solution.
Aim: In line with the One Health principles, this study aims to evaluate functional properties of and and assess the effects of their dietary supplementation on piglets' health.
Materials And Methods: A chemical-functional characterization was conducted before and after digestion.

Currently there is no detailed, internationally agreed protocol defined to evaluate antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) for Legionella pneumophila (required to establish epidemiological cut-off value or "ECOFF" boundaries); therefore, antimicrobial resistance in these isolates cannot be defined. AST methods utilising media containing activated charcoal as an ingredient, to enable Legionella growth, are unreliable as noted in an internationally authored opinion paper and a new gold standard is required. Here we define a detailed protocol for broth microdilution (BMD) using defined cell culture collection-deposited control reference strains (Philadelphia-1 and Knoxville-1) as well as two accessible reference strains with moderately (lpeAB-carrying) and markedly (23S rRNA mutation-carrying) elevated azithromycin minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
