This paper aims to study the remote state estimation of networked nonlinear systems subject to aperiodic sampled delayed measurement. A novel sampled-data non-affine nonlinear observer (SNNO) is designed to address this issue. The designed observer is composed of two parts: the first part is a continuous-time observer, and the second part is an auxiliary variable design that provides continuous compensation of output estimation errors for the first part's state observer. The design of this auxiliary variable provides a new compensation scheme for sampled delayed measurement. The input-to-state stability of the SNNO with respect to the system and output disturbance is proved by means of trajectory-based stability theory. The new theoretical tool reveals the relationship between the convergence rate of the proposed SNNO and the sampling and delay periods. Simulations and comparative analyses with other sampled-data observers are given.

To understand the neural mechanism of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental delay/intellectual disability (DD/ID) that can be associated with ASD, it is important to investigate individuals at an early stage with brain, behavioural and also genetic measures, but such research is still lacking. Here, using the cross-sectional sMRI data of 1030 children under 8 years old, we employed developmental normative models to investigate the atypical development of gray matter volume (GMV) asymmetry in individuals with ASD without DD/ID, ASD with DD/ID and individuals with only DD/ID, and their associations with behavioral and clinical measures and transcription profiles. By extracting the individual deviations of patients from the typical controls with normative models, we found a commonly abnormal pattern of GMV asymmetry across all ASD children: more rightward laterality in the inferior parietal lobe and precentral gyrus, and higher individual variability in the temporal pole.

Epidemiological studies show a high prevalence of "insomnia" in adolescents. However, insomnia symptoms are not specific for insomnia disorder. Puberty is associated with circadian delay, which may cause insomnia symptoms such as problems falling asleep and daytime impairments, but also difficulties rising in the morning which is not a hallmark of insomnia disorder.
