China is the largest carbon dioxide (CO) emitter and has formulated CO emission peak and carbon-neutral plans. Studies on CO emission volume and CO emission intensity (CEI) indicate a growing interest in related fields. The purpose of this research is to improve the performance and reliability of the model for forecasting CO emissions and judging whether to achieve China's CO reduction targets under business-as-usual scenarios. We originally applied a novel hybrid model combining the projection pursuit regression (PPR) model and parasitism-predation optimization algorithm (PPA) (PPA-PPR) to forecast the CO2 emissions from 2022 to 2035, with the time series' CO2 emissions data from 1965 to 2017 and compare with various machine learnings. From the studied results, we can conclude that the hybrid PPA-PPR has better stability and accuracy than BPNN, RF, SVM, GM, TDGM, and LSTM models. The mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) of the verification set data is only 1.19%, and the MAPE of forecasting set data from 2018 to 2021 is 1.44, which obviously outperforms the BPNN, RF, SVM, GM, TDGM, and LSTM models. The second finding is that if China continues to develop in its present trend, it can't implement the CO emission peak and reduction CEI target by over 65% by 2030. The limitation of this research is that we don't decompose the time series data into intrinsic modes to study the possibility of improving the model performances.

In China, a significant amount of coal fly ash is stored or used for landfill reclamation. The contaminants in coal fly ash (CFA) leachate can cause regional soil and groundwater contamination during long-term storage. This paper focuses on a coal gangue comprehensive utilisation power plant in Fenyang City, Shanxi Province, China, where the leaching characteristics of CFA were investigated by leaching tests.

Melasma significantly impacts life quality, and while various laser therapies show promise, rigorous comparative studies, especially between the novel Picosecond Alexandrite Laser (PSAL) and the traditional combined modality of Q-switched and Long-pulse Nd: YAG Lasers (QLNYL), are notably lacking. This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating the efficacy and safety of these modalities, providing insights into their comparative advantages for clinical practice. In a prospective, evaluator-blinded study, 40 participants with Fitzpatrick Skin Types (FST) III and IV underwent three treatment sessions at four-week intervals with either PSAL or QLNYL.

The integrated frequency comb generator based on Kerr parametric oscillation has led to chip-scale, gigahertz-spaced combs with new applications spanning hyperscale telecommunications, low-noise microwave synthesis, light detection and ranging, and astrophysical spectrometer calibration. Recent progress in lithium niobate (LiNbO) photonic integrated circuits (PICs) has resulted in chip-scale, electro-optic (EO) frequency combs, offering precise comb-line positioning and simple operation without relying on the formation of dissipative Kerr solitons. However, current integrated EO combs face limited spectral coverage due to the large microwave power required to drive the non-resonant capacitive electrodes and the strong intrinsic birefringence of LiNbO.

The increasing economic damage caused by terrestrial gastropods, especially the Monacha cartusiana (M. cartusiana) land snail, to the agricultural sector requires a diligent and continuous search for new materials and alternatives for the control operations. In this piece of work, a magnetically separable molluscicide with high effectiveness green Barium-Cerium-Copper ferrite/TiO (Ba-Ce-CuFO/TiO) nanocomposite was greenly prepared using Eichhornia plant aqueous extract and characterized using different techniques.

The essential cause of menopause is ovarian failure, which can cause decline in sex hormones (especially estrogen) that can increase the risk of metabolic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. This study screened 1511 eligible patients from 2148 perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, measuring various physiological and biochemical indicators to analyze differences among age groups (40-44, 45-49, and 50-54 years) with laboratory techniques. The study found no significant difference in the incidence of cardiovascular disease betweenperimenopausal and postmenopausal women.
