Background: The aim of the present study was to establish a predictive model to predict the peritoneal cancer index (PCI) preoperatively in patients with pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP).
Methods: A total of 372 PMP patients were consecutively included from a prospective follow-up database between 1 June 2013 and 1 June 2023. Nine potential variables, namely, gender, age, Barthel Index (BAI), hemoglobin (Hb), albumin (Alb), D-dimer, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA 125), and CA 19-9, were estimated using multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis with a stepwise selection procedure.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of mortality among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), presenting unique challenges in diagnosis and management. Advanced CKD patients often present with atypical symptoms, and conventional diagnostic and interventional approaches carry risks, including contrast-induced nephropathy and the potential need for renal replacement therapy. These risks have led to the phenomenon of "renalism," where necessary procedures may be deferred due to concerns over renal injury.

Neointimal coverage and stent apposition, as assessed from intravascular optical coherence tomography (IVOCT) images, are crucial for optimizing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Existing state-of-the-art computer algorithms designed to automate this analysis often treat lumen and stent segmentations as separate target entities, applicable only to a single stent type and overlook automation of preselecting which pullback segments need segmentation, thus limit their practicality. This study aimed for an algorithm capable of intelligently handling the entire IVOCT pullback across different phases of PCI and clinical scenarios, including the presence and coexistence of metal and bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BVS), stent types.

Cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS-HIPEC) has become standard treatment for peritoneal cancers and metastases, significantly enhancing survival rates. This study evaluated the relationship between tumor burden, hemodynamic management, and postoperative outcomes after CRS-HIPEC. This study included 203 patients undergoing CRS-HIPEC.

Aim The study aimed to detect subtle left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction, reflected by abnormal global longitudinal strain (GLS), in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and to evaluate any improvement in GLS at 24 hours and six months post-PCI. Methods A total of 94 patients with stable CAD scheduled for elective PCI at our hospital were evaluated using conventional 2D echocardiography and GLS prior to the procedure. Follow-up assessments were conducted at 24 hours and six months post-PCI.
