Aztreonam/avibactam (ATM/AVI) has been recently approved drug for clinical use in the European Union. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a novel selective medium for the isolation of ATM/AVI-resistant strains (Super ATM/AVI selective medium) to help to control their spread. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of ATM/AVI were determined using the broth microdilution method for 77 Gram-negative isolates, including 62 Enterobacterales and 15 . The Super ATM/AVI selective medium was elaborated using optimal final concentrations of ATM at 5 mg/L and AVI at 4 mg/L, being supplemented with amphotericin B and vancomycin to prevent growth of yeasts and Gram-positive bacteria and with ZnSO to optimize the expression of metallo-β-lactamase producers. Super ATM/AVI showed high sensitivity (94.6%) and specificity (100%) at a detection limit of 10 CFU/mL.

Herein, we report an efficient [Ru(η-CH)Cl] catalyzed oxidative C-H alkenylation of benzoic acid in the green solvent water. A regioselective olefination of benzoic acid with functionalized alkenes like styrene and acrylate was established at a very mild condition of 60 °C temperature and in an aqueous medium. In contrast to the cyclization of the carboxylic group, a selective -olefination product of benzoic acid was observed with the acrylate.

Evidence for beneficial genes being introgressed into or selected for in hybrids raises concurrent questions about its evolutionary significance. In Darwin's tree finches on the island of Floreana (Galapagos Islands, Ecuador), the Critically Endangered medium tree finch () undergoes introgression with the stable small tree finch (), and hybrids regularly backcross with Earlier studies in 2005-2013 documented an increase in the frequency of hybridisation on Floreana using field-based and microsatellite data.

Glycerol, a by-product of biodiesel production through transesterification, presents an opportunity for biodiesel industries to transform surplus glycerol into high-value chemical products. This study focuses on the development of a series of propyl sulfonic acid functionalized (PrSOH) SBA-15 catalysts, synthesized by direct synthesis of 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) in an acidic medium. The catalysts were evaluated for acetylation of glycerol with acetic acid under conditions optimized through response surface methodology.

Better growth is a phenotypic trait that can contribute to persistence of in food processing environments. To test the hypothesis objectively, persistent and non-persistent strains were selected and grown in different media to gain reliable quantitative growth characteristics. In this study, the effect of temperature in the range from 6 °C to 43 °C on the planktonic growth of genotypically and phenotypically different strains LM9611-19 (LM-P, persistent) and LM120/5 (LM-S, sporadic - potentially non-persistent) in Tryptone Soy Broth (TSB) and in semi-synthetic cheese medium (SCM) was investigated.

Subject-specific finite element (FE) modeling of the mandible bone has recently gained attention for its higher accuracy. A critical modeling factor is including personalized material properties from medical images especially when bone quality has to be respected. However, there is no consensus on the material model for the mandible that realistically estimates the Young's modulus of the bone.
