A nanosecond-pulsed diode-pumped Tm-doped fiber laser (TDFL) operating at 2050 nm is reported based on a flexible photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with a core diameter of 50 µm. Analytical evaluation of reabsorption effects and optimization of the fiber length allow enhanced pulse energy extraction at long wavelengths. This enables the generation of Gaussian-shaped pulses with pulse energies of 1.9 mJ, pulse widths of 116 ns, and peak powers of 15.4 kW from the TDFL. The measured output spectrum shows a single peak at 2050 nm with a 3-dB-linewidth of 130 pm and a 10-dB-linewidth of 370 pm. With a slope efficiency of 44 %, the average output power of the pulsed TDFL is scaled up to 114 W. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the first demonstration of a Tm-doped PCF at a long emission wavelength of 2050 nm and the highest pulse energies from a TDFL based on a flexible fiber.

Oxygen usually exists in the form of diatomic molecules at ambient conditions. At high pressure, it undergoes a series of phase transitions from diatomic O to O cluster and ultimately dissociates into a polymeric O spiral chain structure. Intriguingly, the commonly found cyclic hexameric molecules in other group VIA elements (e.

The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of perovskite solar cells is sensitive to their method of fabrication as well as the combination of materials in the perovskite layer. Air knife-assisted blade coating enables good quality perovskite films to be formed but the device efficiencies still tend to lag behind those fabricated using spin-coated perovskite layers. Herein we report the use of three 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorophenylethylammonium halides (FEAX, where X = I, Br or Cl) as additives in nitrogen knife-assisted blade-coated methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI) perovskite solar cells.

Controllable Nano-Crystallization in Fluoroborosilicate Glass Ceramics for Broadband Visible Photoluminescence.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

A transparent fluoroborosilicate glass ceramic was designed for the controllable precipitation of fluoride nanocrystals and to greatly enhance the photoluminescence of active ions. Through the introduction of BO into fluorosilicate glass, the melting temperature was decreased from 1400 to 1050 °C, and the abnormal crystallization in the fabrication process of fluorosilicate glass was avoided. More importantly, the controlled crystallizations of KZnF and KYbF in fluoroborosilicate glass ceramics enhanced the emission of Mn and Mn-Yb dimers by 6.

-β, β-β' trifused porphyrins incorporating two distinct active methylene groups (MN = malononitrile and IND = 1,3-indanedione) and their corresponding metal complexes with Cu(II) and Zn(II) have been synthesized with good to excellent yields and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and spectrometric methods. Single crystal X-ray analysis of the Zn(II) complex ZnTFPMB(MN) (where TFP = trifused porphyrin and MB = mono benzo) revealed a nonplanar 'armchair' type conformation with a twist angle of 24.10°.

We report the fabrication and characterization of a Bi(III) oxide/polypyrrole (BiO/Ppy) nanocomposite thin film optoelectronic photodetector synthesized by a simple one-pot method. The nanocomposite consists of spherical BiO nanoparticles embedded in a Ppy matrix, forming a porous structure with a high surface area. The XRD analysis reveals that the BiO nanoparticles have a poly-crystalline nature with a crystal size of 40 nm and an optical bandgap of 2.
